Complete!!!!
Ok fellow Board members., I finally got my bike back and I couldn't be happier. First, I want to thank everyone that helped make this build a success. Melillimoto Ducati of Ocala, FL(Seb, Carol, Adam and Buttercup), RapidBike USA, Ducati Delta(zohsix01), Sprint Filter, Mupo, Bike Sport Developments, Ducati Omaha, Bellissimoto, Moto Rapido(Steve Moore), CCR(Sean) and Ben Fox. Last but the most important person of all, my wife for allow me to spend a ridiculous amount of money on my hobby.
This is the first time I have ever built a race bike and it was an undertaking. From sourcing parts, logistics, complexity and timeframe, it was a pretty intense build. Im glad I had the resources to make it successful. As stated on page one, we changed everything. We swapped the Bitubo suspension for Mupo, slip on Temignoni to 300+ Termignoni Reparto Corse full system, MWR WSBK air filter to Sprint SBK filter, base geometry to the R geometry(24 degree rake kit with the R pivot), SL and Panigale R engine internals, EVR3 chain, and we added the MyTune modules with wide and O2 sensors and the YouTune module for launch control. As you can see, basically a new bike.
The end result, a monster. When the bike was finally back together, Seb and Adam said, " Over 20 HP gain and Super Super quick revving"! That was music to my ears.
Now some of you might say, just 20hp. Well, here is the thing. On the dyno runs, for some reason, when the bike got up to 10,500rpms on the dyno, it would go crazy and they couldn't get an accurate number for max HP. If you look at the graph, the bike is basically making 10HP every 500rpms. At 10,500, the bike made 180HP with another 500 or so rpms to go. We can safely assume that the bike would reach at least 190HP if not more. But it's just a number. Let's look at the power curve, could it be any more linear? I think not. No dips at all. Look at the torque. Once it reaches max torque at 9000rpms, it never drops and stay there until redline. Meaning, this bike is going to haul .... Oh, and this is not race fuel, just T4 which is basically oxygenated pump gas without the ethanol. If we dropped some U4.4 in there, I'm sure we would be very close to 200HP.
I'm very excited to have the bike back and just for grins, I took it around the block. It didn't feel right. I guess that how it feels to not ride for 6 months. So, I'm skipping this weekend (I also have a family obligation) but I'll be attending the track days with Southern Track days next weekend for two full days at JenningsGP. I need to get the sag set and see if we can dial the suspension in. After spending all this money, I think it would be stupid to go race with just having my wife as my pit crew. So, let the fun begin. Thanks for tagging along with me and I hope to provide plenty of race videos and if I can help anyone or answer any questions, please feel free to ask.
