Yep you can swap out the inserts and change the rake . I usually will have my swing arm set on -4 this seems to work well .

The 1299 pretty much has this set up.

So should I buy the 15' panigale rake and take advantage of gaining back the wheelbase? Anyone know where I could get that?

190 for the upper and lower
It's about 50 for the dust seals and bearing race if you don't reuse the oem ones. You'll need to press them out

Or upgrade the bearings for about the same price $40. You'll still need 2 $10 seals

Yeah I ran those Podium bearings in my 848. Their triples changed that bike! So I can call a dealer and have those parts ordered? Brian probably has a set of bearings left over he can send me from Podium.

So I swapped out the rear spring and set the shock eyelet to the recommended 306mm. This was still a tad longer than Dan Kyle suggested which was to shorten the eyelet completely and then back out a turn. I'll get some ride height back when I get the 200/60 race tire but I'm really curious how this will handle. I see others are dropping the forks a few mm but at my height I want the bike as tall as possible. With my old 848 the money setting was higher than stock not lower.

already have my inserts installed, also I have Roby Moto clamps not on the bike yet but from everything i seen dimensions etc should not have any problems. might be a good idea to use new bearing when installing RM clamps just in case its too difficult to remove from OE stem without damaging them.

here link to my post where i installed the inserts, page 2

I have a 2012 base with Penske rear and AK cartridges in the Marz forks. I am considering doing the 24 degree conversion. The bike is on stands and disassembled including a fork removed, so measuring heights is impossible. Has anyone determined how much the forks need to be slid up in the triples to keep the heights the same after the deraking?

Yes, I am coach and training director for EvolveGT.com and was a coach for tpm for the last 4 yrs, so I was at nyst every day tpm did, from opening weekend.

We met last summer. I'm jeff, the guy who rides the Pani with the Penske shock. I took your advice and sent my suspension to metric mike MDM, he has my stuff now for revalveing. I hope to get into the low 1.30s this season with proper suspension setup. I did a 1.37 for my best time last season.

Awesome! Yes, I remember you. We will be there a weekend a month, hopefully we get some time together. Have to get Bryan Finch to get a good pic of our 2 panis two wide thru a turn

That would be cool! I'm always up for advice! Look forward to catching up this spring.

Thanks, I have read that, and it does me no good. First, I have Marzocchi forks. Second, my bike was set up at MDM and set for the Penske and the cartridges. What I'm hoping for is to find how much the derake lifts the front, and get adjusted close by that. I supposed I could do some math or even do some bench measurements if needed

I got a 2013 1199R. I am going to change it to 24 rake and -4mm for the swing arm.
- Do I need to set the front and rear height according to those numbers? 306mm eye-to-eye for the rear and 196mm from bottom of lower triple to bottom edge of outer fork tube. Or should I keep it stock?
- And do I need to redo the sag after changing rear and front height?

Thanks!

I'm going to chat with Brad from motion Superbikes tomorrow so I'll let you know what he says. On a stupid note, anyone know if this means I have the gps lap timer? How the hell do I make it work?

Yes you have the gps lap timer. You have to scroll through menu options to activate it. This needs to be done after every time the bike is turned back on. If you received the Dda dongle for data logging that gets plugged in the the connector in the tail section. If the Dda is left connected it WILL drain your battery, disconnect at the end of every day. Hope that helps. Oh and you activate the lap timer with the high beam flasher/ it's the one you can hit w your index finger.
