2015 R1 recall

This is the sort of level of recall that would make me walk away from a bike.
I had one of the early KTM RC8s and was quite happy with the bike apart from multiple
small warranty claims such as water pump seals, gearbox return spring, and speedo.
Then KTM informed it needed pistons and camshafts exchanged. I asked for a new engine and they said no.
Traded it in against something else.

If I wanted a bike which had been pulled down for repairs, I wouldn't have bought new, regardless of whether a dealer had done it or not.

imagine if this was ducati the run around we would be getting

I had a few issues with my 899 and got nothing but the run around from the rep. My dealer was cool but the rep wouldn't budge on anything. So i traded it for a 675R and couldn't be happier. I loved my 899 but the way that guy acted and treated me totally turned me off from the brand. I am not gonna pay a premium then get treated like that.

I'm sorry but when I got my 1199S, one of the 1st in Illinois, I didn't get a demo which was perfectly fine. Even these bikes (1199,1299S, R1's etc) aren't difficult to figure out, as an example I let my neighbors 11yr son play with the controller on mine and without a manual figured it out in 10mins.

I think if you can afford a $20k+ motorcycle, perception is you can read. The only thing I asked them to do was set my suspension (sag) for a 200lb rider...

Let me clear things up a bit. I would not trust a dealer that doesn't even know how to demo their own product with a recall of this magnitude. The fact that they (dealer) couldn't by your post read and figure out how it operates gives me no confidence to do this recall as intended. You make it seem the demo was my concern, it wasn't.
