I'm setting up the original wheels that came with the SF to be able to swap on my 1299 and Speciale for the track. I ordered Stoptech iron rotors and titanium bolts with a set of Perelli SC1’s. This way whatever girl I want to bring I can just swap them back and forth and don’t need to break them down twice adding the slicks. Should be real good. I’m excited to see how the iron rotors are. I have one on my FS450 and it’s amazing! Just don’t get it wet lol

Almost at 500 mile mark. Soon it will be time for the first service. Who is having their dealer do it? I am having mine do it to just put any warranty fears to rest.

Doesn't the service light come on at 600 miles? In that case a dealer would have to at least turn the service light off, I suppose. I bought mine in Vermont (ordered, anyway. Still not here) but live in Connecticut. There are 2 Ducati dealers here, and one is very good and one is sort of iffy. The good one is frustrating in that they don't schedule service appointments. You drop it off, and they get to it when the get to it. They had my SS over a month last year to do my Desmo service, and still hadn't started by the time I pulled it and took it up to Vermont. I do my own maintenance otherwise, so it's a total pain to have to bring the bike in to simply turn the service light off.

where about in CT are you from? I’m from Orange.

I changed my oil at 150 miles and will change it again at 650. When the light comes on at 600 I’ll be riding it to the dealer I bought her at to rest it.
Changed mine myself at 200 miles. Had to use a plastic bag on the muffler with clips to keep oil off of it. Why did they put the drain plug on the side and to the rear?

yeah for sure. I pull the drain plug part way out so that it doesn’t hit the muffler but it’s a PIA for sure. not to mention I’d love a spin on oil filter lol

Ha yeah ok. No thanks. But the spin on filter would be much easier and cleaner way to go. But this is still way better than my son old Kawasaki ZX636 where you unscrew the filter and the oil runs down the entire side of the motor and then on to the exhaust system. Now that sucked

my buddy has a 636. Nice sounding bike, but yes a hassle to carry out a clean oil change. The trick is to tape some tin foil to it or pay it down on its frame slider so it drips straight down
