Actually the 1st & 2nd Gen Diavel 1198s are the 2nd quickest to 60 of any production (as in, unmodified) motorcycle ever. Just behind the colossus that is the VMax, which has 700 extra CCs.
Don't be fooled by the fat haunches and wide tire- if the rider knows what they are doing they will walk any sportbike off the line all day. I can testify to that.
It also tops out in the 160s and pushes a ton of air so the advantage off the line is all it's gonna get, early triple digits and any decent sportbike will be blowing by

That bike comes with my 2nd favorite twin

Too bad Ducati didn’t put some heads on it for that application

Rear wheel dyno that bike is weak 120 hp 80 ft lb

And they weight about 550 lbs!

I gotta believe pee wee gleason could do better to 60 (that’s who tested the vmax) on a bunch of today’s bikes

I have seen a couple tests showing the '06 GSXR1K quicker (2.35 seconds) or the '02 Busa (2.58 seconds), but by most accounts the VMax is king with the Diavel right behind.
Vmax is a 700# bike and yes, the Diavel on paper is underpowered, but the stopwatch doesn't lie so toss common sense right out. Never ridden a VMax but Diavel with upmap, exhaust, and other goodies was downright violent off the line. I agree these bikes aren't for drag racing per se, but sprinting between corners is close and that quickness is noticeable in a canyon run over something more long legged.

I'm quoting mainstream publications like Cycle World, who do an excellent job of maintaining controls during their liter bike shootouts and such.
I would agree in the case of dyno testing that absolute consistency matters. But a test rider at the same track, same time of year and similar weather conditions, doing multiple recorded runs is as good as you're going to get in these cases. We live on a moving, changing planet and not in a vacuum- pro drag racers rarely hit exact ETs back to back on the same day, too many variables.
So believe what you want to, I guess, that's what free countries are all about. I'll take what has been recorded by pro riders with factory backed techs in dedicated test articles as a valid reference at least.

Keep thinking a vmax is faster.

One of the YouTube channels connected to Road and Track or Cycle World did a video about 0-60 times and how the numbers can be all over the place. The big problem is if the testers are measuring the actual 0-60 time or reporting the trap time which removes the driver/rider's reaction time and only starts recording when the vehicle starts moving and passes a sensor. Since its already in motion when the time starts the results would be much lower than what you get otherwise. So not testing under the same circumstances is a big consideration. Is it a 125lbs female rider or a 225lb male one? On and on it goes.

Then even get to trash journalism. I saw a video where two riders tested a Panigale V4 and a Streetfighter V4 in the 1/4 mile with one being an experienced racer and the other rider a journalist. Not surprisingly, the journalist botched the Streetfighter launch before they switched bikes but they included those results. So you could look at it and say the Panigale was almost 2 seconds (for example) faster in the 1/4 mile or you could ignore the bad data and use the professional riders results which places them tenths of a second apart. A journalist and the publications they write for are not infallible.

Wikipedia says the Busa is faster. So believe what you want to.

Reaction time is not part of the equation bro

There is a tiny bit of rollout before the clock starts but it is way more accurate then including reaction time

Hate to break it to you but you are literally making my point here using your own reference. See that waaaaay down at the bottom there? That's the next fastest Ducati after the Diavel, and it's a full fairing sportbike. So if y'all wanna talk .... about who's quicker, just make sure you aren't lining up next to one, because you might get spanked... unless you're on one of the top 3. But I'm a Duc fanboy so I dismiss all other brands.
Is the SFV4 a faster bike? Absolutely. I think the SFV4 is the absolute best all around performance streetbike on the market, and only a few others will outpace it on a track, while not crushing wrists or vertebrae. I wouldn't trade the Streetfighter for anything else much less something that only excels in one area, and to me drag racing/roll-ons on the street are meaningless anyways.

I’ve got 4 as well, it’s an addiction. Rather have a bike addiction than a drug addiction Lol

At one point I had 6 and was parking 2 in my living room...then I decided that I had a problem. I went to a few meetings, then started downsizing. Now I'm down to 2. I kept the SFV4 and the 1299 Panigale...sold 2 Honda and 2 Ducati. Now, everytime I go to dealer to get a service done on one of these bikes, I bring my sponsor...because the temptation to buy another is real.

My wife is the one in our house who encourages n+1. Mostly out of an attitude that life is short (no, it's not about life insurance)... but a little bit out of what's good for the gander is good for the goose (not bikes, horses).
