Hello,

First thread on the Forums! I stumbled onto a 3m/xpel preferences a while back for the potential purchase of the Streefighter v4. However, I ended up going with the V2.

Now onto my question. What currently in this market would be better to go with for preserving paint on all of the fairings/guards? I live in Nevada (non Vegas) and where I'm at we do have a fair amount of bugs and dirt/grime that causes me to wash my bikes every couple rides. I never let bugs sit on the paint after a ride. What would you all sugjest I go with?

I'm fine with non precut applications if need be. I would just like some input.

Thanks!

HiSirbra, congratulations in your new bike & welcome to DucaHouse. For me the best protection is. PPF (Pain Protection Film) & Ceramic coating.

I have ppf on my Jeep currently. Did you end up just buying the ft rolls and self cut?

Welcome aboard OP, your bike is a stunner. It’s under $1,000 to have these bikes professionally detailed, ppf in critical areas plus top tier Good CeramicPro With lifetime warranty. Figured by the time I get done ....... around with it, it’s just worth spending the money on it to have a pro do it. On these bikes at least. It’s important

Love the profile pic, is that one yours?
Yep thats the beast I ended up picking up.

In my area we dont have a professional detail for motorcycles. The only PPF installer wont touch bikes. I have a Xpel installer that will only provide me with ft length rolls. So far the only option I have is to head all the way to Vegas or do it myself.

Dude get precut like @HKMP7 did from TankSlappers.
Id probably get so pissed trying to cut it out that I’d be found laying next to my motorcycle while it’s running in the garage with the door shut.

Maybe you’re good at that stuff and have patients for it. Keep us posted on the project

Ill check out some places see if they have any precut. Might be too new for that. Even motomillion doesn't have tons of parts yet. I've precut for my jeep before on some flat applications but id definately be down to attempt it with the Ducati.

I was summons here lol.
Isn’t the V2 front fairing the same as the original V4?
Yessir thanks for joining. I was thinking the same thing at least for the front face of the V2.
Remember they messed with the locations of the bolts on the 959 so we couldn’t get 1299 fairings on it

I believe the fairings are the same from the v4 2018/19 and the tank is from the 959. But so far information is back and forth.
[/QUOTE] i can answer with 100% certainty that the front fairing, mirrors+connectors, front fender, levers, fuel cap, tail+cover, and MOST tail tidy are original V4 plug n play(Futuris has an adapter) . 1199 rims fit but you will have on/off rear tire clearance issues with stock exhaust, 17+ Supersport rims fit as well, forks are 959 showa, I've see pic of a V2 with the 959 Termi undertail full system, bags for the Akra had 1199 on them, Ignition switch guard is 959, heel guards, 959 tank grips fit also. Waiting on chain guard and rear hugger to confirm but I suspect 1199...we shall see! The V2 seems to be the parts bin special!
I think the only new parts are the intake, seat, exhaust and the side fairings...also I have an Avery pre-cut set for the V4 on the way, I figure since the fender, front fairing and tail are V4 I'd get the set since most will fit ill see how well I can get them to fit

How about the tank? Is it truly the 959? I'm gonna buy a precut for paint protection
