Nice I live in NV so quick delivery. Gonna have to install myself. Zero instaers within area

For the V2 guys, I have ordered the heat shield from Ducati Spacers and cut outs are a bit different than the "old" 959. Seat for an example. So I did not wanna mess with it and returned it. Sucks but on to the next "fix" for the damn heat. I know headers would help but that is an expensive fix haha.

@RM3851 So far for me the heat hasn't been a problem surprisingly. Having well done legs after a hard ride has been the usual.

Word, I mean I can tolerate it of course. But if I know there is a remedy for it, I would be perfectly fine to utilize that. I yet have to get a new suit and test out the "leather will eliminate all of the heat issue" theory.
I was thinking about putting a carbon heat shield under the seat but with the stock header it will melt it right off. Happened on a few bikes out there.

Besides that I am pretty happy with the bike out of the box, all good. Some right hand palm discomfort, but that is after riding around for hours. I guess it is expected.

@RM3851 I hear ya. I would probably do the same if the price point wasn't outrageous. The grips are pretty hard for my liking as well. I got some riding gloves with the two end fingers connected that after a long ride hurts the finger tips weirdly.

Hoping for some mild upgrades for this machine soon.

How did the under tank pieces fit? I know the engine covers are the same as 959. I would be cool using dynamat to fill in spots that are off.

image.jpgIMHO, the heat thing is exasperated by the lean mapping. It would be nice to see how the temps change with different exhaust software with no other changes.

Is the expel the best option for a second skin? This is a typical ride below 3000-4000' here.

You’re right on for the 99 bikes. My bike cooled way down once it was tuned properly. I think they try n cheat emissions by leaning it out but then it runs way hot.
I don’t think the massive reduction in heat can simply be attributed to “early fan on” but maybe that helps slightly. Pretty sure it’s the correction to fueling

idk if V2 guys need it tho cause from what I gather these bikes are way smoother than the old twins

I'm in-between ceramic coating the bike and xpel pro.
Do both, coatings do NOT protect against anything other than rain and powder dust.
a BMW I coated had 2 nasty rock chips in it a week after I was done wit it and the owner was sad he didn’t go with ppf in critical areas.
Plus u can super slick the film so ur not losing out on the ease of keeping ur bike perfectly clean

I was told by some detailing shops around for cars you can't ceramic coating>ppf but you can ppf>ceramic coating.

How much fade comes from ppf? Thats my main concern

Every month the SOP change for auto detailing
This is specifically for PPF/wrap but yeah it’s not the same as a base coating that bonds to paint, it’s probably more like a top coat that I would want to apply every 3-6 months but I’m anal. I just used a half gallon of bleach to clean the bathroom

Sounds like I got a project incoming lol. Ordered ceramic pro and ill wait for the other member to call tankslappers for the xpel to order that.

Meditate for an hour b4 u start that project and you’ll do just fine

“how much fade from ppf” you ask? Not anywhere near enough to look worse than a small rock chip on ur brand new Ducati red paint!
Just make sure u buff/polish with patients b4 u move forward

True lol I'm gonna meditate all week in preparation. Around 250 for everything. I already have all the detailing supplies so that'll save a bit. Also I have been looking for a pitbull rear stand 100% sold out everywhere

@cycler sold me a Pitbull elite rear stand for less than anywhere else but his stock is limited so hit him up now for a price

Get some isopropyl and distilled water, I do around a 50/50 mix in a sprayer. This needs to be the last step, very thorough b4 laying ppf and again final step b4 coating

how did u get ur hands on CeramicPro? Do u have a detail shop?

Color n drive sells a kit for ceramic coating. 59 bucks for a non hybrid kid.

I detailed cars here for a bit. At home detailing.

Hmm I've never used mixture. Might have to try that.

Spray on freshly clean paint>ppf>2nd spray>ceramic coat?
