It’s tough to see in person till u get up close to it and even up close it’s tough to capture what I’m looking at. bad orange peal on certain parts and very bad swirls & straight scratches. I like watching the experts perfect the bodywork.
Once it’s perfect the reflections will look crisp and perfect instead of like original Nintendo games

Yes I know my bike is filthy. I did t buy it to clean it, I bought it to ride it. It will be getting taken care of shortly:

For people that aren’t going to spend the time correcting the paint to a point that’s worth installing PPF / semipermanent coating: Hydrosilex is a great option to super slick the bike which makes washing bugs and debris off much more enjoyable.
It’s a “for the time being” spray on, wipe off product that can be stripped off with IPA. It’s great on helmets including visors and it’s good on all paint glossy to matte and even for plastics and CF.
Its great around the house too on items like mirrors, glass around the shower, kitchen appliances.

really shines the paint up nice leaving that wet looking gloss. Plus it’s super slick!

Xpel, all the way. 3M does not and will not stand behind their product. There is an Xpel dealer in Dallas and one in Boston. Both I believe will cut the pieces and ship. Automotive Elegance in Boston-great people, and Xpel Dallas in Dallas.

I have had both of them install on my different bikes. The 1299s kit covered nearly 98 % of the bike.

You will want to advise matte or gloss finish. I wasn’t aware there were two finishes until my matte carbon front fender remained matte.

The guys in Boston are very nice as well, so if you’re going to do it yourself, I have no doubt they would answer any questions you have while purchasing from them.

Baller response! Didn't hear back about tankslappers so ill reach out to them. I live in Nevada but if they can cut and ship I would be sold.

XPEL here in Houston advised me of a 3rd party here in Houston... The 3rd party has not replied back after I contacted them through their website. One non response killed two companies for me.

That is just my experience in Houston and the others may be great, but I refuse to beg a company to take my money.

Same boat as you. I reached out to a few places. A few haven't responded and a few have. I'll check that once place in Boston to see if they precut xpel.

My clients receive a text usually immediately, if I’m not in the office inquiries don’t go much longer than a few hours without a response.

it’s called... running a business
Agreed. I'm fine with a response the next day even the day after. Its been a since Friday/Saturday. My local area has a bunch of "certified" xpel installers that work from home. I think they just got partially contracted and stopped working for xpel.

It'll take a minute with the different power band. It ramps up 5k+ and keeps pulling

My 1299 used to fall on its face right around 6500, but once it got to 8k it felt like a turbo spoiled up and it went into disappear mode. The ECU flash took care of that

Do u notice any dead spots?

Ya definitely. 4th-6th 5k- 6500~ it does have that spool type acceleration. I'll definitely give it some beans after service.

Just wait till you go to 9k and pass that... It is where it has its' peak torque and I can definitely feel it. I too was holding her under 6k rpm till 620mi service, then under 7k rpm till about 1000 or so. But I racked up enough miles that I was at about 1500mi when I just let her have it. Man oh man, it just goes and goes.

U guys aren’t going to harm anything revving it all the way out, wide open. These are precision machines and the engines are good to go by the time the dealerships accept them.

I got to ride along on a PDI (pre delivery inspection) in a McLaren 12c when it launched. I am sure all new engines are ready to roar upon delivery!

These engines need lots of air to really get going, sure the torque down low is nice but once you open it up and it really starts moving some air, hold on tight
