why bother wasting money on a tune then?
good point, I'm happy with the akra map + evo the dealer installed. Ill let you know when I need to flatten the torque curve or fill in the 2hp flat spot at 9k

I get why Rick and anyone RACING their bike is faffing with all this electronics to eke 10/10ths. It sounds like a lot of time and effort for marginal gains but I see the worth if it gives you a leg up. But, the problems and unknowns of messing w electronics seem to outweigh the advantages in non-competition.
… money is better spent elsewhere.
…..The upgrade to the EVO2 definitely consist of three components: Dash, BBS and ECU reflash. Take a look at the attached file and you should understand what I am talking about.…..
Isn’t there a newer version than EVO2?

I find a tune desirable because it has the potential to make a bike easier to ride and more reliable.
I don't get why anyone without a 22 bike or newer is bothering to be in this thread...seems like a lot of time and or effort for no gains....
This is what I've noticed just puttering out on the streets. EBC 3 is less intrusive. And partial throttle shifts are improved. One thing that I've noticed is that I haven't hit a neutral on the 2-N-1 downshift lately. Not sure if it's down to the Corse rear sets or this electronics update
I don't think you would notice the difference
The ‘21 bike however is vastly improved with the tune.
Apparently the new pipe delivers 6 to 7% more power, thats ((215.5*6)/100)+215.5 or 228.43 hp if you believe the hype. I don't need anymore power, I need the connection between hand and contact patch to assist getting all those horses to the ground without spitting me off and the Evo 3 apparently does that:
"The Ducati Traction & Wheelie Control Evo 3 for Racing tyres is now available also for the Panigale V4 MY21. Developed together with Ducati Corse technicians to considerably improve laptime, with both slick and rain tyres. EVO3 is a further evolution of Ducati Traction Control, improved with refined strategy derived from Ducati Corse and designed so that throttle opening when coming out of the corner becomes even easier and more predictable. During this riding phase there can be an unwanted and unexpected slippage of the rear wheel due to the peak acceleration of the crankshaft, normally at the end of the backlash phase of the drive line. This disturbs the rider while increasing the throttle at the maximum leaning angle. The new software predictively adjusts the torque delivered by Desmosedici Stradale, calibrating the angular acceleration of the crankshaft to make the recovery phase more fluid. This translates into a more neutral behaviour when coming out of the corner and thus a better feeling and riding control. It can be used both with standard and with Racing exhaust; it can be set to 8 different levels (6 for dry track and 2 for wet track and Rain tyres), which allow each rider to adjust the control strategy to his/her own riding style and grip conditions, in order to achieve top performance".
So far I haven't even scratched the surface of the existing mapping options
By feel and engine warning light!
Bizarrely, the Ducati Akrapovic map won't allow the 23 electronics upgrade. Apparently they're working on that though.
There is an easy explanation for your bike not showing a CEL after the update. The Ducati performance map that is part of the upgrade has the diagnostics for the emission related components disabled. All Ducati Performance maps up to MY2020 bikes that show Racing EVO at startup have EVAP valve disabled by default.
The second possible explanation for a tune really staying unaffected would be that the calibration ID of the tune that had been loaded in the ECU previously was already the matching ID for the EVO2 software package. In that case the Ducati Diagnostic System would not flash the ECU again.
