Quick update on my ‘25 V4S. I got a call from the dealer technician on Friday, letting me know the parts are on the way and should arrive by 12/31/2024. He also apologized and mentioned that Ducati asked him to confirm if I had dyno-tuned the bike, as they couldn’t figure out how else the rear brake line and speed sensor wire could have melted. Naturally, I told him no—that wasn’t the case. I pointed out that they can simply check the computer logs to see my engine RPMs, which were all within the break-in period parameters.

Has anyone else with a 2025 V4S have had any issues?

Also, I talked to New Rage Cycles, they should have a tail tidy with integrated LED lights in January
No issues yet, but I’ve not yet completed the break-in mileage.

Nope. But my legs are around the cylinders on the gs and I cant feel any heat

Very apples to oranges comparison there, a V4 sport bike and an adventure bike with a boxer engine…I can’t think of an engine configuration that places the cylinders further from the rider than a boxer.

Th
Overheating/water pump issues have plagued the PV4 since its release. I'm sure it'll continue with the 25 and on.
They redesigned the cooling system both oil and water. And they will surely have changed the pump. The problem in the end with these is the heat transfer from the tail of the tank to the seat. I've messed with mine enough that you can ride it at 90F if you don't stop. When I stop for gas it's miserable until it's ridden again about 10-15 minutes. On the 25 V4SF they now are trying to use scoops to cool the rider. Suspect that really doesn't work.

Getting replacement parts and fixing the bike under warranty is great. But the question remains...why did it happen? Is it a design flaw waiting to bite others in the butt, or did someone at the factory push this out on a Friday evening when he was already late for a date?

One of the big issues is that the metal rear subframe for the seat runs directly off of the engine in one of the engines, hottest places, making that rear subframe like a big radiator fan that absorbs heat. Get a Rade Garage tank seat combo, and it eliminates that. Even getting an aftermarket rear subframe like motor holders helps because there’s not as much metal mass in it to absorb heat.

The only place I felt a lot of heat from my 2020 was by my left ankle after changing some stuff around

I had M1000RR before V4, 14000km and need anew engine (serviced everty 3000km at dealer and they void warranty. And there is lot of M with engine stucked. S1000RR maybe little better.

If the wire for the speed sensor was broken the bike would’ve thrown out dtc and abs codes.
Ask to see the cable and where the issue was to cause it to melt and also to show you the melted brake line coz you would’ve seen it at least smelt the brake fluid.

That’s a good point. When the dealer opens tomorrow, I’ll talk to the technician and ask them to save all the parts for me. I have a good relationship with the guys at Pro Italia in Glendale—they’re not the type to just side with Ducati, and would tell me the truth.

I’m thinking maybe the rubber sheath around the wire melted, but the wire itself didn’t get damaged or deformed. I didn’t notice any warning lights, smells, or anything unusual—just that the rear brake was completely useless. The brake lever went all the way down with no resistance, which made me think it might be an air bubble in the line.

I talked to a knowledgeable friend, and he mentioned that there’s not a lot of brake fluid going to the rear caliper, which could explain the lack of smell or visible leaking fluid.

Here’s a picture I took when I hit the 600-mile mark around December 19, 2024. I just turned the bike on (without starting the engine) for reference. You can see the service light for the 600-mile service, but no error codes.

In over 25 years of riding, I’ve never had an issue like this with any of my bikes. But hey, I guess there’s always a first.

Yep the issue exactly. The V4SF's transfer heat from head/rear header thru the subframe (which is more massive then the Pani's) into tail of the tank, which has been preheated by the bit around the airbox. The seat sits on the subframe and the tail of the tank. Part of the Rade improvement is the material. Everybody bitched about the plastic tanks but if they had used plastic instead of aluminum the heat transfer to the rider would be lower.
