100%...if he mentioned dyno or TRACK...they'd reject flat out and make the owner jump through legal hoops....Those sneaky fücks are trying to swindle you out of your warranty

I could also see them doing this if he himself did the exhaust install.100%...if he mentioned dyno or TRACK...they'd reject flat out and make the owner jump through legal hoops....
The problem with high performance cars is that they're cars. After you terrify all your friends and family with it and a few track days, ultimately if your wife doesn't like it or it doesn't have enough luggage space to actually use it, it'll sit there.Ducati starting to make me think they are more like McLaren than Ferrari.
The only reason I never bought a McLaren 765 is because every single guy I know who owns a McLaren has a love-hate relationship with them. When the car is working, it’s the best car in the world. But every single one of them says the car spends more time in the shop than they do driving it.
They're good if they're assembled right. The problems mostly seem quality related. I have multiple Ducati's which have had no issues. But my plan, since I only buy used and never with a warranty is to research reliability issues and deal with them first if needed.Interestingly, my first-year 2012 Ducati 1199S has been mostly flawless--the only problem happened in 2019, bad MAP sensor--easy and cheap fix. Guess I got lucky!
I’ve had warranty work done without any issues on the R (gasket failure) and it’s got track bodywork, clip-ons, switches, front master, rearsets, rear subframe, no lights, etc - clearly a track bike and still wearing slicks when they took all the pictures of the entire bike and sent it off to Ducati to ask if the could proceed with the repair under warranty. The work was authorised immediately, with no questions asked. It’s not got a non-Ducati tune or had any unauthorised engine work though and the modifications are all cosmetic rather than being anything mechanical, but the point is that it was clearly a track bike and clearly only used on track and it was not an issue for warranty work.100%...if he mentioned dyno or TRACK...they'd reject flat out and make the owner jump through legal hoops....
that is a wonderful data point, thanks for sharing....i do feel better now a little bit..I’ve had warranty work done without any issues on the R (gasket failure) and it’s got track bodywork, clip-ons, switches, front master, rearsets, rear subframe, no lights, etc - clearly a track bike and still wearing slicks when they took all the pictures of the entire bike and sent it off to Ducati to ask if the could proceed with the repair under warranty. I agree with you, my streetfighter was definitely used at the track, and they all knew it, but they still worked on it under warranty. But it was gasket leaks, clutch and master cylinder issues. Nothing that should break at the track. But if was out of parameter, like made into a non street legal bike, rev bombed like crazy, crashed, etc and the computer can show that, they probably would decline to fix it. It also helps to have a good relationship with your service guys.that is a wonderful data point, thanks for sharing....i do feel better now a little bit..

That hot on the legs, was the comment i was hopying not to hear.RoadracerX road the new Ducati for about an 85 mile test road, really put it through its paces, edge of tire all that. Says it a phenomenal bike, incredible throttle to rear wheel connection, very balanced handling, easy to ride fast like a Fireblade now, best ergos Ducati has come out with…the only negative was that it was still hot on the legs in a longer ride.
I’ll wait for the R though.
Ever been on tuned S1000RR? No heat issue, pushing 210hp. There's no way you're going to straddle a 200+ HP engine and not notice the heat.
You're mentionning some s1000rr with engine failures right? It has to do that when you're capable of building 600hp cars, petrol diesel and hybrid engines with euro 6+ emission rules theb you're able of building euro 5 mc engines. What does that have to do with anything? They definitely don't have the reputation for the most reliable engines.
12 years ago…And ducati went reliable just after audi bought them back, i wouldnt have bought a ducati before
So what's your point12 years ago…
I was wondering the same when you posted about BMW and their engines. So what's your point
Overheating isn’t the same as getting hot.My point was related to overheating, that someone claimed it is impossible to make a 200hp bike without overheating. Then someone said the s1000rr doesnt overheat with 210hp on it. Then I said bmw has a lot of experience for building engines. Here is my point.
Yes ducati is reliable now. My point and your point.
