That would be unfortunate. Nothing worse than having a spouse who resents an activity that you enjoy.

You would find your time better spent in actively encouraging her interest.

my buddy has a k1200 bmw and takes his wife everywhere on it. he simply loves the bike. its fast and comfortable. you may want to consider that

Get a super Duke 1290! Probably the best overall bike I've ever ridden.

100% Agreed! I take my son on it all the time. It's a great, great bike.

Not as good a two-up touring, but it's a great second bike.

My son LOVES it.... My girl think's it's ok, it obviously not a comfortable a multi, but it's not bad.

I've been on ride outs with a guy who has an older model, just the Brutale, looks a bit more pillion friendly

BRUTALE 1090 Motorcycle | MV Agusta

He takes his wife on the back and goes round corners quicker than some people care to on their own.........

She doesnt resent it, she understands it. She is into arts and crafts and teaches art. I respect that but I could never have the passion she does about it and she understands that.

I can only hope that she will want to get involved and I will purchase another bike such as a multistrada or have start riding; However that's not in the cards right now as we are trying to purchase a new house.

Im looking forward to the panigale meet at the dragon if there is one this year!

Grayson - check out NC 9 in Black Mountain. Deal's Gap is a circus and has been for some time now...

I lived in WNC for 7 years. 2 of those were in Almond, NC.:D

Never went to the gap. There are much better roads, however meeting skilled riders around my area now is few and far between.

Sorry for the thread off track.

Looks like the rationale behind bike #2 is a two-up suitable mount that doesn't suck. MS is runaway winner there, especially if it's an S with the Skyhook suspenders that are easily tweakable for 2-up loads. Still a very capable mount solo on a twisty backroad, but nothing else I've seen mentioned in the thread would be nearly as good for the passenger.

My current 2nd is a '13 KTM990 SMT; meant for trips and wandering around on roads that aren't really best suited for a sportbike. Great bike; good balance of power and chassis, very agile in the twisties and really comfy for long days in the saddle. Arguably more plain fun than the Pani, though not nearly as thrilling. In the marry or f#@k game, it's the hands-down marry choice. We already knew which one the Pani was going to be... :D

Gota disagree with this one. I told my fiance I will not ride with her. She now does stuff that interests her when I'm out on trackdays or riding.

Works for the both of us!

Some Multistrada ....! My '14 Pikes Peak. It is the perfect 2nd bike for just about anything.

For a two up second bike you are not moving very far from a sport bike. Do yourself a favor and broaden your horizons to something more of a sport tourer or one of the new adventure bikes that are very close to a true sport tourer.

Good point. I would move away from sport bikes.

My next bike will be something for comfort especially 2up and use the 1199 for speed and handling.

Lefty im gonna test ride The 15 multi s tomorrow. Will know more with the skyhook tomorrow ohh and the 1299s hehe

3 bike test ride.

2015 Ducati Multistrada S
Ok so I took an hour and WOW! You fellas weren't lying at all. That bike is sick. In Urban mode its so smooth and the engine sounds like a quieted down version of our Pani's. Touring mode was awesome on long roads. The suspension is heaven. Our roads are completely trashed and this bike soaked them all up with no hesitation. Sport mode haha.. All smiles, it has loads of power and it feels freaky light in the turns, so much so I went into the other lane on the first sharp left hander as I thought I would need to add more umphh to make it go. It flicks right over and sticks.. Hell I'd take this bike to the track and have some fun on it with some Rosso Corsas on it..

2015 KTM 1290 SD

FUN, FUN, FUN.. Everything was fun as hell on the bike. I don't think my youngest one would feel ok on it or my wife.

KTM Adventure 1190 R

Meh.. Pretty good, just not as good in all areas as the Multi or SD.. Don't like the looks.

Winner 2015 Multi S in White.. Just gotta pay of the Pani now to add it to the stable..
