Anyone else building a new track bike for this year? I've completely deconstructed my 899 Panigale track bike down to basically nothing and building it back up from scratch in a completely different direction this year. Looks like I might even get the chance to race it a few times this year if everything works out as planned. Here's my photoshop mock-up of the paint scheme I'm thinking of. The fuel tank is raw aluminum, which is kind of hard to show in a mockup and the white paint will actually be a pearl white to hopefully blend better with the tank. The wheels are actually Carrozzeria forged aluminum red anodized wheels, not stock 899 wheels. And it won't have mirrors! ha ha!

Should be a fun project, only 2 months left to complete it before our first track weekend!

Why dont you do an 1199?? That way I could vicariously live thru that and get tips...:D

Here's my cryptic answer or non-answer: This bike will not be 899cc displacement..... ;) So maybe you can still get some vicarious thrills?

Sounds intriguing.. Are you going to stuff an 1199 engine into the 899??? :D

All that matters is it LOOKS like an 899! Ha ha! It will only race in the Supertwins class if I get to do the CCS round at Brainerd that I'm shooting for in June. Plus our local TrackAddix Superbike TT series.

EDIT: I just realized it's eligible for CCS Formula 40 too!

Jarel, are you the answer to my prayers and doings 699? Or 649?

:D

Did someone say LWT DOMINANCE?

Actually most of the race series here have banned reducing displacement to meet class rules, so that won't work. Now if Ducati would just BUILD a single-cylinder sportbike THAT would be the answer to all of our prayers! :D

VERY nice setup Jarel. no Pierobon swingarm? :)

Not yet, that's still my long-term plan but I spent several months trying to get one and they just couldn't get one made. Pierobon was all booked up making parts for the Superbike teams and didn't have the capacity to produce the swingers for production yet.

I have just ordered the 1299 for my new race bike . I am looking forward to hearing your reports on the Mupo suspension I feel I may head down this path .
My plan for the new bike is to Keep it as standard as I can and just do the essentials for making it a great race bike .

J the 899 is looking killer dude. Make sure you drop video in here from the track.
