Adding Full Akra for the Track, Anything Else Now?

There's guys here at a pretty high level who say the ABS is very good. Unless I was racing, and had the skill level to be doing so, competitively I'd leave it. For people who want a better lever feel, I'd probably change the brake lines long before going to a new master or calipers.

I agree with this, the cornering ABS adds a level of extra safety that i don't understand track riders wanting to do away with. Aside from the fact that if you're too fast into a corner you can brake and lean with confidence rather than panic and run off.... but once you're confident with it it changes how you achieve a good lap time, using the system to trail brake like a pro right up to the point where you accelerate, using the QS changing down all the way in then up the box on the way out.......

When i'm on my CBR600RR with an up only QS and a slipper clutch i see it as cheating... on the V4SP it's a seriously fast hoot!

The cornering ABS is absolutely excellent. I raced with it, and pretty sure I managed a PB with it.
But, I must admit, it does take away a bit of feel right at the limit. Which, ultimately, does take away a bit of confidence in braking.

As a newbie track rider I'll leave the ABS intact for now, and would hope changing the front master cylinder would help with better lever feel (and certainly adjustability).
What model would everyone suggest changing to?

I would suggest staying with the stock master cylinder, it is excellent.

If you get enjoyment from buying expensive components, then there are plenty of very expensive MCs you can buy. None will give you a real performance benefit, but you will be able to tell people you have them. And there's nothing wrong with that!

The brakes, are literally, amazing. As stock.

Brake/air ducts, for the calipers, will give (very slightly) a more consistent feel at the lever.

Folding levers are handy in a crash.

Spider levers are very good, and pad upgrade to Vesrah/Brembo Z04/SBS DS1 will give slight improvement to initial bite and feel. But I'd happily run a set of stock pads, until they're fully worn, before upgrading.

If you're leaving the ABS in then there's no point changing MC or anything else, apart from lines for rerouting purposes and of course pads. The feel from the MC is controlled by the ABS pump, so it still feels the same, in my experience from doing this on a previous bike with a similar system.

That's not an issue for me as i'm only enjoying track days, not racing so i'm not pushing my limit and certainly nowhere near the bikes..... interesting point though, is the difference in feel enough to lose the cornering ABS for? i guess racing hard it would be.

@Loony888 yeah, for racing it is. You just need that little extra confidence. Def would've kept it if I was trackdaying it!

I'm having a shop add the full Akra system (low exit) to my new '22 V4S Panigale that I bought to use for track days (which I've never done before), and wonder what other track-focussed parts you'd suggest I have them install while the bike is disassembled to such an extent?
I know its kind of hard to answer, as I really don't know what I need/want yet for doing track riding, but are their some absolutely necessary track-riding parts you think I should add at this stage so i don't need have them tear down the bike to this level again soon as I start to build this track-only bike?

Thanks!

In Europe Ducati does not provide an ECU map for the 2022 Panigale V4 with the DP2 (low exit full Akra system). They only have a map for the DP3 (underseat exit full Akra system). Is it the same in other countries?

I'm pretty sure they do... I think they even provide maps for the race slip-ons but not sure about the latter.
