Hey everyone. Looking at picking up a full Akra system soon and wanted to see what everyones opinions of them were and hopefully what prices people were paying to get them. I read the Akra thread and didn't see much in the way of opinions or pricing other than list. Also, I'll ask my dealer tomorrow, but does anyone know if you'll void the warranty/recommended to wait until the first service @600 miles to put on a full exhaust with an upmap? I've heard both wait for break in and seen bikes delivered with the Akra full already on.

Thanks in advance.

You've found a dealer in los angeles that's willing to install a full akra on a street bike? I was under the impression that dealers weren't doing that for fear of getting fined, unless it's a full on track bike.

They sell for 5k'ish - 5700 with another 1k'ish for install. You can find international websites selling them for much less. Just gotta research. One has already been mentioned here on the forum.

An exhaust does not void your warranty. The dealer would have to prove that whatever issue came about was caused by the exhaust itself. A tune on the other hand, sure. In the end, you're at the mercy of the dealership as far as warranty goes. Some dealers are more lenient than others.

Dealer wouldn't be installing mine and the lowest price I have seen advertised is $5,200 which is pretty high in comparison to a 16k bike. The upmap, from my understanding is part of the system and required to correct the afr. I was under the impression that since its a ducati option part that the full exhaust with what I thought was an included akra upmap was fine for ducati warranty. Only question really was if its ok before the break in period ends.

Can we confirm that exhausts for the 99s fit the V2 perfectly and the Akra/dp UpMap will work on the V2?
This is specifically for the 99s but there’s hardly a reason to pay an extra $grand. I’m sure discounts exist deeper than this

I think one of the differences is, according to ducati, the v2 system includes the mapping. Or at least as far as I can tell from their website.

Is the upmap required for slipons, or only for a full system (apologies if that's a dumb question, I'm newish to modding bikes)

My dealer advised me to wait until break-in was done .. then put the exhaust on.

I don’t think there’s much difference from the full system and the slip ons. I’ve heard you just have the upmap either way, I’ve heard you don’t need it either way. I know, helpful answer.

There are definitely shops and dealerships in California who are willing to install aftermarket exhausts. I had my full Akrapovic exhaust that I bought used installed by a local dealership.

got the akra full system, best sounding bike i have heard to date. you need an upmap for either full or slip on. I put the exhaust on over the weekend and taking it to the dealer on tuesday when they open.

Congrats! Wait till u pin the throttle and quickshift up. It bangs like a shotgun. Amazing.

How long did the installation take you?

The popping on decel and the quickshift up at high rpm are my two favorite sounds lol. about 5 hours. 6 if you count the charcoal canister. Fairly certain I could do it in 4 next time around.

how much did you pay for your Akra and where did you buy it from? I'm still debating between Akra and Vandemon exhaust

TIA

Does the upmap do anything that wasn't already sorted by the ECU? What I mean is that the only real way to map an engine is to tune it, as the ECU should do the airflow adjustment easily. Or does the Upmap actually tie the HP/Torque curve together better?

Removes a check engine light and from what I understand is what provides the ~7hp increase
Ok. My dealer told me that they would remove the check engine light without the Upmap. I guess I will need to wait and see what happens. They are going to fit 1299 akro cans to the V2, and there is no Upmap available. The extra 7 HP, I can live without, just want the deeper and nicer exhaust note.

The check engine light is just from the exhaust valve, so I don’t know what they’re doing to get around that other than an upmap or coding it out.
