Full Akra Titanium Exhaust Worth it for V4S?

The problem being its a civil issue so you'd have to get a lawyer and sue them. And they know that.

Most dealers though want to keep their customer happy and will work with you. But if you're a .... mechanic and break stuff or install crap parts you are going to be on your own.

At this rate of price hike, soon they'll offer financing for the Akrapovic exhaust and throw in the bike for free.

Hopefully they'll lower the prices again as the material cost is decreasing. No wonder the price went up when the material cost went up almost 350% in 1,5 years..

One can only hope, however I fear that will not be the case. I believe they’ll put that extra profit in their pockets.

Manufacturer competition should eliminate this possibility in theory.

But Ducati/Akra tax is unjustified so who knows.

Maybe, but I wonder if this is essentially an end-around the wsbk homologation price cap - price for the bike is 45k, and then 10k for the “exhaust” (wink wink), bringing the total cost closer to what they want to charge for the bike but can’t.

Wheelbarrow exhaust only drops 7-8 lbs or $1000/lb. It also probably raises the center of gravity. Money well spent

It also sounds bad-....

I haven't heard the low mounts in person but from the videos they sound like an open exhaust, like there's no muffler at all.

The undertail is loud even with the db killers but has a nice tone.

Given the weight of the std exhaust with it's huge cat box simply removing that alone will raise the COG......

Doubt the wheelbarrow pipes will add much to that, it looks nice but i still prefer the low Akrapovic exhaust myself, Db killers out of course.

I’ve had several exhausts, best bang for the buck in terms of weight reduction and performance gains is the Termi slip of that decats the bike, significant weight reduction, less air restriction, and to me the best sounding.

The Ducati race Akra is very good and sounds great, seems pricey for what it is.

Sparks WSBK is still my out and out favorite, it’s the lightest, has Inconel headers and titanium tubes add can, and probably the best performing though negligible so.

I do kinda like the looks of that wheelbarrow Akra though.

I, while not being a baller on Steven's level, have only had two aftermarket exhausts. I agree on the Termi slip on being the best value and I'll add performance to dollar best system. Consider it includes a tune and an air filter too, it's a really good value. It had a great sound too.

The Termignoni slip-on does seem to offer a lot for the money.

I was thrilled with these price increases happening while I was trying to make my mind up…🤬

I’ve ended up paying around £3,800 for the full low-exit Akrapovic and it will cost me about £300 to have it fitted by my dealer. Much more than I’d like to pay of course but far less than the prices I was getting for the wheelbarrow Akrapovic, plus the low-exit option loses an extra kg over the wheelbarrow and I do like weight loss (except for myself of course).

I was considering the Termignoni D200 but I think I prefer the look of the low-exit. That Spark WSBK looks epic.

Interesting they’re quoting you only 300 for the install. It’s like an 8 hour job - dealers are charging ~$1200 for it here in the states.

Labour costs are a bit cheaper here, plus I got a bit of a discount from the standard rate (which would have been about £500). At the price they offered for the work involved I thought it was a very good deal.

The full akrapovic line should let your engine breathe more properly as you wouldnt run as lean as with double catalyst exhaust originally installed. I had full exhaust installed solely to make sure my engine stays as reliable as possible. 215 or 226hp you wont see a difference on the road

Yeah I’m not so sure that stock exhaust and cats cause the engine to run lean or less reliable. This logic is a bit dubious 🤔

These bikes are actually set up a little bit on the rich side from the factory with the cats on…opening up the air flow makes it run more lean with the right map, and that’s not a bad thing.

Coming from HD: and i am pretty sure this is the case for most manufacturer. more stringent emission norms and still a crazy amount of power at the same time means you probably got really lean at the regular rpm's + the cats that restruct your exhaust flow I dont think it s a good idea to keep stock exhaust and stock map
