Akrapovič Evolution exhaust

Yeh yeh and do not think its a political money thing... I can tell you it is!!! Just my opinion that the Akra is boring and we already know the austin is by far the lightest weight system for the 1199. 2 big silencers titanium or not will not be so light weight.

But at least it will be legal, very lightweight compared to stock, and maintain the look of the Panigale for those that want it. The AR is very loud, which some want, and drastically modifies the appearance which some may want as well. It is a departure from every other pipe, as it does not have a silencer/muffler.

Political or not, racing teams are not going to put a pipe on that causes them to lose races.

Correct cant argue with your first point but your second point I'm afraid just ain't true. Teams run what the manufacturer tells them they must run dependent on the contractual obligations to tie ups. Eg termignoni Ducati, Aprilia Akrapovich. Trust me that is how it goes like it or not.

I don't like it :) While this may be true in general, there is no proof that this is the case here.

Dude like it or not its fact.... In the racing world you use what your told to use if your a factory ride. End of..

Just got a call from ducati Austin and they said the first ones are hitting July 4th and he's trying to get one.

We're going to wait until akra post dyno then have customer post dyno then pray to god they are similar. Or there had better be some serious akra bashing

Talking to a duc specialist the other day about Dyno results and as I have mentioned before in a post you will always different results with different bikes and different conditions.

Unless you compare on the same dyne, how do you expect to get similar results.

You may as well start the bashing now if that is what you are inclined to do, it will just be another I will not read. Like the other exhaust one.

I have actually written a letter to Akra asking them something about their 1199 exhaust. If they answer and I am sure they will I will have information which comes direct from the horses mouth rather than the self professed expert opinions sometimes floated on this forum. Will I then post it on here so some ...... can argue against it? No way.

Fit

I really like the Akra and AR exhausts. I was pro AR for the weight reduction but after seeing pictures, aesthetically the change is too drastic and I do think the noise will probably be too obnoxious.

The Akra is dear but the craftmanship looks spectacular.

I have noticed that the fit does appear to be different across pictures.

I've included two photos; the Rotobox Akra fit appears to follow the lines of the bike, compared to the official Akra photo that just seems to hang too low off the bottom. I will be interested to see how the fit turns out on customer bikes. Perhaps the rotobox is using different lower fairings?

A racebike (with an Akra) photo on here also seemed to follow the Rotobox fit, maybe confirming the fairing theory, but hopefully the finished article will follow similar fitment, because it looks a lot tidier.

Just me being fickle but these things do grain on me; oh and a nice bulge in the mid-range would be welcome too :)

they are the same exact fit. your eyes are being fooled by the different lighting. look at the reflections on the two bikes. the flash is in different locations for each bike. the shadows show different lines.

I don't bash products just people. I expect certain members to bash if customers hp is not the same as akra's. Same as they did with AR. Fair is fair right? as of right now would not buy any exhaust for my bike. Too much money not enough performance.

If a rep from Akra joins the forum and is critical of other products...I PROMISE he'll be asked the same types of questions we've seen in the past.

It does look like the bolts where the exhaust meets the fairing nearer the front end are at different levels. Maybe it is the lighting or different angles, only customer pictures will confirm....

Thye like all other vendors, would never do that, regardless of how they truly feel about their competitors, very unprofessional. That kind of posting will not occur on the new-improved forum, Ducati 1199 Panigale Forum :)

What's this statement based on .... looks? Arka still hasn't officially released any performance figures. IMO, with the exception of the CF end caps it looks like the OEM and Termi system with regards to the slip-ons. However, I do like the style of the micro-header cover. I don't know how functional it'll be, but it looks good. :)

I should have been more clear. The system technically is not currently available. What I meant to say is regarding the crasftmanship, aesthetics, and lightweight, it appears to be the best system. Regarding power, it likely won't produce less than the Termis, so thats a win in my book.
