Akrapovic Exhaust on a Panigale

Help Support Ducati Forum:

Full system pricing is a little steep (no doubt worth it but I'm not a money tree atm).

Wonder if/when they'll offer a slip-on only? Would have a big interest in that.

They have no plans re a slip-on option.

Disappointing.

Given that they make a slip-on for about everything else out there (they even make one for my wife's Can-Am Spyder, FFS), would seem to be an odd decision on their part.

Or maybe they don't have confidence that they can make a better sounding slip-on than the Termi's that everyone has.

Oh well.....gotta keep looking elsewhere, I suppose.

It is because ducati is only prestige for them. They could make it in few days.Market is not as huge as it is on japanese bikes and other. So they made it jus for ppl who really love akra and buy ducati since termi is house firm from duc and official partner.

Now there are rumours spreading here ducati is gonna sign akra for official so you might see ducatis in future with akras. Then you can expect all from slipon to etc.

For now its only rumours but i keep all posted if something happens :)

If they go for it,both gain,in pricing, plus ducatis will be even more expensive probably due to exhaust, overall marjet all will boost.Imagine best product exhaust on best bike it fits together, but lets see

P.S. Rumours are not a joke first sign is project 1201 and few other stuff here.....

Ive asked our moderator STW to post up a new thread regarding tge possibilities of a group buy on these pipes. At the least Bellissimoto will be matching current prices found on other websites but again their margins are slimmer than you think.

Between STW and I you will get this info once this AIM show is over and Randy gets time to discuss things with Akra themselves.

I've personally requested all carbon be highly glossed to produce the shinest and most blinding level of gloss humanly possible for everyone! (lmfao-:)-

Hope we can put together a really good deal for our members.. Thank you Gunny... Without you none of this would even be possible....

I would hope we can put together some slightly more concrete info in the next few days....

Just installed the pipes and map from Rexxer. Will report back after a ride tomorrow :)

The exhaust is well made for sure. It took about 4 hours... I took my time so as not to mess anything up.

The front pipe to the head was a pain. It is tight but manageable with a 1/4 in ratchet and a short 10mm socket.

I really don't like the gloss look mixed with satin. It is fugly. I am going to live with it for the time being. I thought about just taking some rubbing compound to it.

Could you post some videos paaaleaseee?

I can't stress enough how awesome this exhaust sounds. Was able to witness this in person today during our 250+ mile roundtrip riding with lardawge, one of his buddies as well as scrapperX and I think we were all beyond impressed with the akra sound. Looks sweet, sounds like pure sex and looks like a definite future mod for me. I'm convinced. Can't say my neighbors will be too happy about it though. Damn it's loud! No baffles FTW!!

Count me in for the group buy... I have a lot of mods to do this winter, and this exhaust is one of them.

Yes, definitely Akrapovic on the Superleggera.

As for why, I would say a strong factor would have been the weight saving offered by a full titanium system, maybe it also proved to be more tuneable, offering better performance.

I'm sure Ducati looked at Termi, but I guess these factors nudged them out as Ducati were looking for ultimates on this machine.

for years and years I always believed that termi's are always superior to Akra's. I mean even Ducati officials who visits my country every now and then told me that the only noteworthy exhaust for our Ducs are termi's. then this pipe was chosen for the ultimate panigale:rolleyes: I would love to talk to them right now.

So now I should tell my friends that Akra's is the best exhaust.

instead of concerning myself on exhausts maybe I should concentrate more on my ridding as I can not even max out an 848

from what i've heard through the grapevine, going forward akra will be used on new models and termi will be eliminated.

Oh no, does termi have other customers other than Ducati's? if this is the case perhaps they would fold up

i have no idea, but i hope this is true since putting on the new akra will void the warranty. and if akra will be on future bikes, dealers SHOULD still honor the warranty for 1199s with it..

In what way will installing an Akra pipe void the warranty???

sorry, i should have expanded a little further. as it was explained to me by my dealer, once we do any changes to the ECU (be it rexxer, power commander, etc) it in effect voids the warranty. in the case of a mechanical/electronic failure, the rep handling a warranty claim will see the after market exhaust, hook the bike up to the computer, and see all the aftermarket changes. again i could be wrong, but this is how it was explained to me.

+1 the Akra sounds Awesome. Deep rumble more bass than the Termi but it's not obnoxious. The Ti headers are a master piece. The carbon heat shield is beautiful.

This is how it was explained to me by my dealer as well. Hopefully we'll see Ducati back this exhaust with an ECU upmap now that they are offering the Akras with the Pani SL.
