What ecu/setup would you akra owners recommend to use with this? Anyone know if air filter comes with the exhaust or do we have to buy that seperately too?

Akra have designed the system to work with the standard maps, which is a good job, since they would have needed Ducati cooperation to switch out maps via USB.

Now, for the Superleggera .... you can bet Ducati mapped that beast proper :p

is it safe to say that the exhaust that comes with the superlegera is akrapovic? why did they ditch the termi's for this awesome exhaust?

Yes, definitely Akrapovic on the Superleggera.

As for why, I would say a strong factor would have been the weight saving offered by a full titanium system, maybe it also proved to be more tuneable, offering better performance.

I'm sure Ducati looked at Termi, but I guess these factors nudged them out as Ducati were looking for ultimates on this machine.

Which "standard maps"? Base? "S"?, "R"? Are you saying I can buy the Akra and put it on my base Pani without any changes to the upmap and it will work just fine?

Would be nice if it's true. But somehow I think there's more to it than that...

any full exhaust needs/should be tuned. i've only read about people using rexxer. nothing on power commander yet probably because its still brand new. my local dealer is clueless still doesn't realize the akras are avaialble for purchase

Agreed. If it worked straight out of the box with no tuning, I would expect it to produce zero gains. The weight reduction would be the only benefit.

i guess there will be some gains possible, i can tell from comparing the modded stock exhaust vs. the stock exhaust both on the base map. bottom end gains visible and feel-able.

akra should have that figured out. ;)

I would expect some minor gains. Just simply from it (I assume) not having the catalytics and/or few db killers.

I wouldn't have much interest in hp gains - the lighter weight and that wonderful sound would be enough.

But my concern is the fuelmap/ignition cycle could be messed up with a change in backpressure from the exhaust system leading to some erratic response at the throttle.

The Superleggera site confirms a full Titanium Akrapovic exhaust system.. now that just made that bike even more badass :D

It is always a crap shoot how good the sensors are in the exhaust. In theory, they should be able to read the exhaust mixture and compensate the fueling accordingly. This however seems to be the exception rather than the rule. Thus, many times adding a full exhaust without mapping can actually yield a decrease in power and an abominable A/F ratio.

Just installed the pipes and map from Rexxer. Will report back after a ride tomorrow :)

The exhaust is well made for sure. It took about 4 hours... I took my time so as not to mess anything up.

The front pipe to the head was a pain. It is tight but manageable with a 1/4 in ratchet and a short 10mm socket.

I really don't like the gloss look mixed with satin. It is fugly. I am going to live with it for the time being. I thought about just taking some rubbing compound to it.

You need to come to our Sunday morning ride so a few of us can check it out in person. If interested, check out the socal thread for more info.

Received an email this evening from a member asking if Bellissimoto can match the Revzilla price of $3500 which is entirely possible. I will get with Randy to see if they can also match or beat Moto Mummy and post up his answer since we are all out here at the AIM show together.

They have it mounted on one customer bike here but the guy had the Ti pipes jet coated black. I also like the blued finish that comes from the heat cycles and may contemplate them after speaking with Dave at Redline / Rexxer about proper mapping since he has the main contract w Akra for doing all their proper tuning for these. Gotta go to the source ya know?

Will post a Belli price if you guys are interested?

Don't be daft, even a standard akra slip-on yields gains on any bike, straight from the box, with no mods :)

Sure you can tune it for better results, but the Akra will run as is. That's how they sell and market the product.
