Quick update from the UK distributor today.

Basically the pictures and system shown at the Milan show is of a prototype pipe. They wanted to show something at the show as they felt customers had started to look else where.

The prototype pipe is pretty much production spec with the only issues currently linked to the use of Carbon on the silencer and heatshield. Akra are currently looking at the possiblity of having to use a ceramic heatshield depending on longevitiy of the carbon item. Also the carbon tips on the silcencers may end up being Ti as Akra have concerns about stone chipping and heat damage due to the location.

For the UK guys we should be seeing production spec exhausts arriving at the end of Jan with JHP getting the first one to run on the superstock bike.

I have been promised power, weight and noise specs before Christmas which I'll post as soon as I get them.

thanks for the update, i too am interested in this system more than anything else out there

My only concern about the system is being made of titanium. On the Ducati they do not seem to last long as the vibration causes the titanium to crack. I want something that will last and do not want to be buying replacement parts to fix.

I ended up grabbing the headers for $1709. This all seems quite ridiculous. At least I know they are covered, mapping should be native, and it'd be far more expensive to try and sell my slips and buy a complete new system. So, you win some you lose some.

I hope the ECU update sticks and the up-map just unlocks the Evo map.

So Santa, you mean you had the Termi slips, and you added headers?

Yup, Xmas present I suppose. B/O 12/18. They must be doing something on their end...

If they are THAT BAD, I can sell the system complete. I didn't pay tax, free shipping, and 10% member discount. Adding all that in will suck for any of the other systems...

I'm guessing 3 hr install. Will do a TUT if asked for it. I've gotten pretty good at working on the bike itself.

If you are so fond of expressing yourself, why did you delete your post? Atleast have the balls to stick to what you say, or grow some. I have a pair to go .... with, but you don't have that option I think.

You made it personal buddy. Carefully read my posts and they are not abusive. You on the other hand made it personal. All that hero talk about growing balls is really brave when you know we will never meet. The reason I deleted my post was to make sure I did not offend anyone. But then you had to make a deal of it.

I have no interest in buying a new exhaust. But I found it strange that guys were being critical about the AR company. And then I see a post where the same guy then up and says after all the posts about the AR and urgently needing this information and that, and why no pictures etc.......this same guy puts in a post in another section where he says he may now buy something else.

Prasen you can now post a comeback and have the last word to feel good. I won,t respond anymore.

I have just received an email from supply. They said first exhaust will be ship off 1st week of March 2013.

So if anyone has put money down or thinking of it will be along wait for the system, i will hold off until they are actually have the system in stock

I know of at least one place that wants 20% to get your name on the list. But 3 months is a long time to wait. :( Maybe if you did that, in 3 months you would forget, and feel like you got a 20% discount when you finally got it and paid the rest!

Yup, Akra product guy told me Feb/March - earliest.

So the dyno chart is associated with a prototype system and the actual system released may/may not have carbon tips and require a ceramic heat shield. Am I reading this right? I actually thought the carbon tips were a bad idea when I first saw the pics so I'd bet they end up tossing the idea.

This system is on my short list too but with the confirmed March timing, that may be the deciding factor for me.

nope that is the panigale rs which i photoshopped to see the color scheme I will be going with for my R (hoping i'm able to get it by summer that is). Till then just trying to be happy with yamahas and hyosungs :p

The front ohlins cost 12K (I think the 000 series or the 900 I forget which), the first mod i'm planning to make. Not too sure about the brakes.

no use adding the FGR's if you're not sure about the brakes.. the stock 100MM standard calipers won't fit the 108mm FGR's so you will have to change them . you will have to replace the triples to 52/58 as well and could consider changing to 320 mm rotors..Axles are not standard as only RS axles will fit... and then some custom made holders for front mudguard and ABS/TCS sensors. changing to FGR's means changing the whole front... add another 3,5 to 5K on top of those 13... and : the FGR's take yearly maintenance.. the current series is the 300 series... for 2013...

As promised:

Personally, I believe that the base plot is always gonna be a moving reference point, depending on the version of Ducati map, plus settings being used.

As you can see, this is September time stamped, so is already the "old" map.

Having said that, since Akra say their system should be used with the standard "Race" map, I wonder how it will be affected by the continual updates Ducati will make to their own maps

Is this the full system termi, or slip ons?

Also, does anyone have a dyno chart comparing the Akrapovic to a full system Termignoni with the new and updated up-map?

Doesn't really matter, as it was definitely pre the updated maps, which would have made a far more significant improvement to how the termis performed.

Can only wonder how the akra would be performing with the updated standard Ducati map.

As I originally said - very much a moving target.
