i been really looking forward to see what akra can offer.

but looks like its having issue of some sort because i hear there is some back order till june

Indeed it is a very attractive price, what is unattractive about it is the fact you gotta dyno tune .....

Akra isn't saying what you need to do to maximize their pipe, right? So you would be on your own with PCV or RB I am guessing. In the old days, we just swapped out 4 jets, looked at the plugs :)

Is that whole USB drive thingie Termi exclusive?

Forgive my ignorance as I say the following. Tuning with a Baz/Rapid/PCV on a dyno and updating UpMaps, does one cancel the other out or how does that work? Does the piggyback map stay unchanged forever or what?

No idea. But one one think they would be similar, but I can't imagine Akra saying that their pipe has the same fueling requirements as the Termi, that would imply similar perfomance. Which if true, you are paying (same price now) for the look/weight over a Termi.

Tuning with a Baz/Rapid/PCV on a dyno is on top of the upmap(s), not a replacement.

No what I meant by that was, will Akra offer a USB drive w/map along with their systems like Termi does. It would be super if it did.

I believe one of the super Ducati tuners is working on a map for this particular exhaust. Not sure about the exact status but you may want to get the map that they come up with for the Akrapovic exhaust as they do a lot of the tuning that you're seeing from dealers these days.

I think you've been elected to keep this thresd updated!

Aside from the expected lack of full performance potential from getting an exaust that doesnt come with a map and won't be dyno'ed and tuned, are there any other con's to know about? This being for a pani that may never see a track. City and country riding99% of the time.

Then your choice will be purely aesthetics, the same reason a lot of mods are done here - from CF to colored screews and stickers. I am sure the Akra will either run with th its own (when arrives), or the existing ones. They won't sell a product that makes the bike worse.

Updates the ECU. A bit different from using a fuel module as the update effects the driveability range (0-4000 rpm) where a fuel module cannot. Also compensates for exhaust flapper valve and charcoal canister removal.

If you update your ECU with an upmap of any kind you will need to readjust your fuel controller, whether it be bazzaz, PCV, etc. in order to gain maximum performance. Usually if you have your ECU flashed properly, dyno tuned and restrictions removed, there is no need for a fuel controller as the ECU serves the same function. ECU is really the "brains" of the bike. A fuel controller is nothing more than giving your "brain" a drug to modify one area of it (Air/Fuel Ratio)

Good deal, thank you. So Rexxer would be a better option than Rapidbike and etc.

I want this exhaust. Can anyone find a place with it in stock?

You will have a difficult time finding one that is in stock right now. The Akrapovic Importer shows them currently as estimated to be available by 3/15, well in January it did show 2/15.

PM me if you are interested in a unit.

I have a Panigale with full Akrapovic system on the dyno at the moment.
I am making a custom TuneBoy map for this as I think the Akrapovic system will be popular once people see the results.
I was a little sceptical of the dyno graph posted at the start of this thread.
The bike I have on the dyno has very good performance in the midrange.
I will post the dyno results when I am done.
I will post the graphs showing power delivery at several points through the throttle range.
I don't have before runs for this bike because I aborted the run when the A/F ratio hit 16/1 on the first power run.
I do have a dyno graph of the AR exhaust and I will post the tuned AR system and tuned Akrapovic system as a comparison.
I am also fitting a strain gauge quick shift to this bike, this adds the throttle blip on down shifts.

Wayne are you willing to share the maps to TB customers afterwards?
I am curious how they perform on the modded cans.

Thanks!
