Yup, saw that. Good to see Japan back in the game after a long period in the hurt locker. Be interesting to see the next salvos from Honda and Suzuki. Probably be a year, but you know they're coming...
Off topic, but also interesting to see the early reports from the H2/H2R launch. Superbike's writeup was a fun read. Bike sounds better dynamically than I'd have expected, with the as-expected, absolutely mental motor. They also have a nice piece on the R1, with glowing praise. Bring on the shootouts!

Hayden let it slip during one of his interviews that one big reason he was excited about his two year deal with Yoshimura Suzuki was that next year they were getting a new 1000.

you know, I've been debating on building an R for the cost of my current bike (as a B bike for race) and buying a R1. then I come to my senses and say .... that, aint nothing ....... with the R. Excuse the grammar and language.
