Like the Panigale, I think they look so much better without the mirrors.

So 20lbs heavier than the 1299s, and almost 40lbs heavier than the 2015 Panigale R. Down some 20hp on both? Looks like they are setting up the new R1 to be the liter bike shootout winner because it cost less. I hope I get a chance to ride one soon to check it out. And I hope to smash some of them on the track, lol.

I think the claimed HP number in the article is incorrect. Yamaha is claiming 200 hp. Unless Motorcyclist's claimed HP of 187 is at the wheel, it doesn't match what Yamaha has stated.

On a side note, I think the US spec bikes will probably be restricted and need to be flashed to get the same (or more) power of the euro spec bikes.

Regarding the weight, one of the Grave's videos actually said that it lost a ton of weight in race trim and was at or below the Moto America minimum just yanking all the street crap off. I suppose we are still a while away from really knowing anything about any of the new bikes though. I don't think I've ever read a first ride review that made anything sounds bad. Chris Ulrich said his review won't be up until next months RRW.

You will get to see it race in World Superstock this season. I think it's going to be awesome to see all the new and revised models going at it in a state of tune that the average (ish) joe can relate to.
