You can only choose one...

After a couple of years, I'm selling the full carbon RSV4 'cause it's a wee bit too compact for my frame. Scratching my head head for a while, reading and reading... finally I decided that the base 1299 was the way to go.
I was tempted by the R1, but once you've gone italian, no going back to the Japanese. Great bikes, but they just don't have that passion, that je ne sais quoi.
Ultimately, i don't care as much about being the fastest on the track as I do about how the bike makes me feel. This will be my first Ducati and I want to fall in love all over again. The R1 might be a harder sell.

Exactly. I'll be happy with whichever I can get love both the R1 and 1299

Omg want so bad. Dying over here. Hard choice to make still between it and the 1299s.

I have a deposit on The R1M and the 1299S NO BS..I will be only buying 1 though...Probably will go right till April when they are both due in..This will be my 18th new bike and the hardest yet to choose from..I have owned 3 R1 and a R6 before, will be my first Ducati.

Luckily lol. My decision will be made by cash available at the time

I would take a standard R1 and throw on a set of BST's. The engine and electronics are all the same. You can eventually add suspension at a later date when the funds are available. Just my .02

wow!

Milwaukee Yamaha's Josh Brookes and Broc Parkes have unveiled the YZF-R1 that they will campaign in the 2015 MCE British Superbike Championship at the Yamaha Motor Racing Headquarters in Italy.

Following the much-anticipated launch of the new R1 at the end of last year, the SMR team has been working closely with the Yamaha factory on the development of the new machine, which will debut in the opening round of the season at Donington Park on 4/5/6 April.

Brookes and Parkes were joined on stage at the unveiling, at the 2015 Official Racing teams' press conference, by riders representing Yamaha's World Endurance line-up of YART and GMT94, with the launch showcasing the official Yamaha racing teams at the home of the Yamaha MotoGP squad.

Team manager Mick Shanley commented: "It is a big honour for our team to be involved with the official Yamaha project for the new R1. It has been fantastic to be a part of this event and to have the launch hosted at the headquarters of Yamaha's MotoGP team shows how highly-regarded the new R1 is to the factory. This has been a great opportunity for us to showcase our team and the MCE British Superbike Championship to an international audience ahead of our on-track debut next month."

not the S any more?

It really depends which I have enough funds to get. If I have enough to get the S I'm getting it, if not I have to get the r1 base. All depends on the funds ready when it happens.

1199 thx for the pics. the mil r1 looks awesome. I'm hoping speed channel shows BSB this year.
