Hi

If you near these areas or in them please let me know what you guys think about them and any reason someone should not move there with children and riding positives other than Road Atlanta being 20 minutes away lol

Thanks

Mike

I live in Lawrenceville, GA (inside city limits). Have been here about 30 yrs. Wouldn't leave it for anything.

Close enough to Atlanta that you get all the benefits. World class M/C roads just an hour away in N.GA.

If you're in to track days, lots of tracks around close like Barber, Carolina MSP, Roebling, Road Atlanta, etc.

All the amenities (highly rated public school system here in Gwinett Co., nightlife, concert venues, etc.). Traffic is a horror (some of the worst in U.S. but I work from home so that's not much of a factor for me.

Mild winters, long riding season (from beginning March to December).

Exactly what I needed to hear lol. AND OMG that many tracks nearby is a godsend. What's the summer temps like? And thanks for the info Charlie!

I live in Miami now but lived in GA for 15 years from '95 to 2010. July and August are pretty rough and there is no way of gettting around that. As the other poster said, the riding season is long and you can ride year the months he quoted but you may get a break here and there for a warm day in Jan and Feb. The secret to riding in July and August is to get up early in the morning and be back before noon.

Also, Jenningsgp is another great track at the GA-FL border and you can get there in about 4 hours tops.

Summer's aren't too bad. Yes, it can get hot. And yes, you're gonna sweat in your leathers. I use a Dainese Textile Jacket in July/Aug. And that mitigates the worst of it. And when it just gets *really* hot I remind myself that it could be worse - that I could be living in that hellhole of a swamp called "Florida". :)

But.....fall in N.GA/Western N.C. is pure bliss for motorcycles. Cool weather, great roads, gorgeous colors. Lots of M/C specific rallies, etc. Best place to be in the fall.

If/when you get down this way, make contact. Scorpio (fellow lister) lives over in John's Creek and we regularly make Sunday runs to the Mtns when the weather is good. A pair of Panigales doing the Blood Mtn run on a Sunday morning is music to the ears and always turns heads. A trio of Panis would sound even nicer. :)

+1 . I leave in Alpharetta, 30 min from Lawrenceville. I'm not sure about the city but it's a great area for motorbike enthusiasts. Let us know when you move, Charlie and I will introduce you to the Blood Mtn ;-)

Do you guys go to NPR or Motorcycles of Atlanta to buy and service the beasts?

Also its in the 50's there today and in the 20's here today :( Time to move.

NPR.

I've known Paul since he was working for John Hoffman (Duc legend here in S.E.) back in late 80s/early 90s. NPR just a quick ride down Hwy 316 from the house (25 mi) so it's easy choice. If you're looking to settle in Dacula/Bethlehem area you'll be even closer.

Don't know anything about Moto of Atlanta. Haven't heard anything about them. I know they're over there (opposite side of town). Just haven't run into anyone who's used them and don't really get over to that side of town much.
