Really?? I think that's a perfectly reasonable request... No?? He has been asked a great question... I added that I would want him to answer it and not frame it as Trolling... I don't get how people who question numbers and the validity of claims are "trolls who should be banned" ....
Lol not going there again. But again, lets just wait for those that have the system to post results. :) I'm sure a quick google search will tell you all you want to know about the material.

Great. Glad you could clear everything up. It feels good to have everything resolved:rolleyes:

Well just keep shaking those AR Pom Poms and all will be well I am sure....

That dog is only interested in information. I have no intention of buying an AR, AK any other full system. :)

AK? Is that Alaska Racing? They make inconel dog sleds - they say they are faster than the wooden ones, are lighter, and run cooler. But you have to use a special breed of sled dogs to get the perfomrance they proclaim - and those dogs are very expensive and take special trainers.

Well info is cool... I thought we has some already.... But then I guess you mean adjusted tuned numbers???;)

Checking the bike over today, noticed the pipe has started to melt the fairing slightly which is very annoying. No idea whether it was like that already from stock pipe.

Hard to see in the photo. We did put the heat tape behind the fairing. Hopefully it won't get any worse and we'll work out a way to protect it on Wednesday.

I solved this one by placing 2 small washers between the fairing mount near by.
This gives me enough clearance to avoid any damage.

Mate speak to your dealer and order the warranty replacement rubber spacer that pushes against the fairing. It goes up from 8mm to 11.5mm.

That is if the AR sys has the same mount point for the rubber spacer!

The lower fairing could be replaced under warranty too if you want to go to the trouble of putting the original pipe back on to save the $577 for the LRS fairing.

Ye the short ride to the mechanic won't make much difference and they can fit a spacer.

Not worth a replacement fairing its so minor, and frankly it could have been done by the stock pipe for all I know, I didn't think to check and I know numerous people have had this problem.

I have no doubt that it was caused by the stock pipe as I had my LRS replaced Thursday and there is a Ducati bulletin about the issue.

The trick will be to stop the new pipe from carrying on the job!

Flyby video

I put a quick flyby vid together using a go-pro stuck on a road marker. Sound quality s rubbish as per all GoPro footage I ever do but you get the idea. The camera can't deal with loud sounds and makes the exhaust sound tinny when it really isn't, you get a better idea of the bass when I cruise slowly past. Im sure someone else will eventually do a more professional one.

p.s. the camera fell off the pole for one pass hence the pics :)

Hey Waf... so how are you feeling about all this right now???

Hey Waf... so how are you feeling about all this right now???

I'm excited again.

Having put all the numbers into perspective it's really now all about extracting the best performance from the bike.

The prospect of tuning a new pipe like this has attracted the state's top tuner and he's travelling 250km to be part of the Tunefest, and rumour has it that another special guest might be making an appearance.

It sounds evil when it rolling along in between traffic as you come up to a stop light, you can see the people in cages straining to see what's coming. Lots of positive reactions.

As I've got an HP4 on order I can see myself making this bike more and more evil over time

Well I certainly hope you understand the concern of a group of trolls on here had/have for the outcome.. which is still way up in the air...;)

I absolutely get it. None of you guys are trolling, just trying to keep things honest.

Its a bit like the threads that popped up once Pani customer bikes first started being delivered and hitting the dyno - we were all "where's the 195hp' and 'why is the S1000RR shitting on the 1199", we wanted to believe the hype! We could only bicker amongst ourselves (no manufacturer).

The dyno we are tuning on is conservative so we'll be looking for gains rather than peak numbers there. The AR numbers suggest we are looking for approx 13HP, which based on my original run would put me at 183hp on his dyno.

Once its well tuned we'll run it at the Bunbury Dyno which recorded 186hp for a stock bike! Will post the dynos charts from the conservative one regardless, and the other later. Mr Tuneboy made an interesting post above regarding this type of gain.

This thread has had some talk about "Rear wheel HP" and "Crankshaft HP"

Just because it is the wheel that connects the bike to the dyno does not make it rear wheel horsepower.
Anyone who has the time should read this article about the DynoJet dyno.
http://www.factorypro.com/magazine/Sports%20car%20International%20magazine/Making_hot_rodding_Honest,1-5wNOTES.pdf

The Dynojet fudge factor is the reason all other dyno's have an option to show DJ HP, without this the dyno's that measure the real HP will always show a low number.

That is a great article! What a travesty!
