Yes it is a shame that they did that fudge.
All the other Dyno manufacturers have to add some sort of comparison mode.
Without the comparison mode they get complaints like "My bike makes more power at ..."
I read somewhere that Ducati now quote "Inertia dyno HP" instead of HP at the crank.
This is because a modern motor with low internal inertia will show more HP on a DJ dyno than it really makes at the crank.
If you look back at the claimed HP of a 916 vs the DJ measured HP from magazine tests you will see that the 916 often made more on the DJ dyno than Ducati claimed at the crank.
After all we have come a long way since the 1985 V-Max.
More reason to focus on before/after and the % gain rather than the number.
