That is incorrect, i dont think he specifically referenced the Akra Panigale exhaust. I interpret this as a general practice of comparison between different types of exhaust. Which almost every manufacturer does. They compare against stock(or whats most commonly available) and in some cases other vendors, the same goes for air filters(Isn't there a thread here on an air filter that gives 5-8 hp over stock isn't that a comparison).
If I remember correctly rich never specifically referenced Akra, competition werkes etc as the only ones available at the time was termi slips and full system for comparison. What does beat mean in your eyes (weight, price, peak power, noise adjustability, looks, torque curve, mid range power.....), that can be subjective unless you've defined the specific reference parameters.
I for one would never take one person's word hence interest in the various exhaust threads to see what the feedback from the actual owners of the various exhausts(unfortunately i am seeing more feedback from those that have never even seen, tuned or ridden a bike with the exhausts in question.).
At $3400 that's a good price go and get it why care what Rich or anyone else thinks.
My personal preference is the Termi slips(at $1600) as its the best option for the parameters that i use to judge, that's just me.
