Good point RSR! I had the privilege of having Dennis over for a few coldies. He's a solid dude! Dennis explained that he is self funding all of his adventures through his art, photography, and writing. We have to support guys that are living our dream when we can. I'm expecting some of his ridiculous " 'Rrt" soon!

So cool that you guys met. Dennis is def my brother from another mother!

I like your avatar. Have him paint it as an original.

You won't be disappointed. :)

I'd suggest a min of a 5 figure commission as it is well worth it and really just anyone can buy a print, but there is only one original and I truly feel that AH will become significantly famous one day and your small investment will become a priceless work of art.

There are only so many true renaissance men left on this planet.

Let the master make your idea a reality and we can all share in his adventures.

He is truly living the life that we all can envy and admire.

Support the cause: commission an original; buy a print, and or send money via PayPal, arrange for a place for him to stay, whatever it takes!!

Call text or email him. He will always answer and you all need to know this man. He has touched many lives and will continue to do so when you contact him.

AH is really a true hero. One who would be comfortable exploring the unknown of the world hundreds of years ago and relating his observations back to us.

Get to know him and support the cause!! ATW ON AN ITALIAN SUPERMODEL!!

Thanks for the kind words, Dr. RSR.

Feeling absolutely terrible. Landed in Milan yesterday after very long and sleepless flights. Had a root canal before I left that turned infectious. So I've been alternately sweating/shivering for the past 36 hours while popping Keflex, lorazepam and/or vicodin. Not a great beginning, but I'm here. Landed in as far as what I can tell is an ethnic/working-class neighborhood. Safe, but a far cry from the glamorous vision of Milan most would imagine. Suits me just fine. Lots of church bells can be heard ringing from my 8th floor Apt. Lots of heated arguments in Italian echo across the courtyard and from within the building itself.

Got a GPS notification that my bike was near the airport at LAX. Can't wait.

Now back to bed....

Argh, that sucks.
Always wondered how you will manage things with insurances (both health and bike) here in EU.
Get out of Milan as soon as you get your bike. The only nice part of it is the 1Km radius circle centered on the Duomo.
Plus, it's the city of Berlusconi, AC Milan, and Inter, which measure wrong on all sort of dimensions :D
One more thing. Be careful about where you park your bike! Not to throw some paranoia on you, but I would not like you to find yourself stranded, bike-less, at the start of your trip.
The fact that they make them here, does not make a 22K Euro bike less of a candy for thieves :D
Weather is pretty $hitty right now for the season. In theory, from Wed the summer should finally arrive (at least around the Misano area, where you are headed).

Ahh, the memories; been sick as a dog in Milan myself. Sucked at the time, but it got better. LOTS better... ;) Hope your time in the hurt locker is short and the flip side is long!

Now US customs won't release my bike for shipment. Lovely day it is.

Dennis
Sorry to hear about the root canal...just make sure the bacteria doesn't spread to the heart...(read up on that).. but, judging by all the drugs you are on, I think you have arrested the situation from escalating into some thing medically catastrophic...

most people don't realize that gum issues and bacteria are catalysts to other bigger health issues if not addressed in a timely manner...

Who managed the shipment?
Shipping that kind of stuff overseas requires people knowing how to properly compile a bunch of paperwork, and if things are not done in the proper form, it gets sticky.

Thanks for the warning--and the scare, Prince Albert! Last thing I need is to have cardiac arrest due to some dental work. Feeling much better now, though.

So it looks like US customs will be clear in the next 24 hours. Paperwork issues. Hopefully once the bike gets to Italy Italian customs goes smoothly. So hard to believe what it takes to ship a hunk of metal from one country to another.

I tried searching for them"”do you have a URL for that company? I'd love to have that in my pocket if I ship my bike for a trip.

I used Berkley Air to ship 1 time was flawless. San Fran' - London

Good luck, hope that pain goes away
