i call them fools not because they do not agree with me, but because they specifically refuse to comprehend basic data and charts; i.e., facts.

it may be extrapolated to THIS here very thread...

think about it...

stay on topic, dont use this thread to call fools those who dont agree with you. For that you have the cowboy's thread. Just stay on topic please

It's just a straight pipe, so this is expected. I hope the baffling changes help your 6-7k range.

I understood that straight through pipe shouldn't harm power, just torque. That's why when they run the 1199 at the drags they take off the muffler and why racing pipes are staright through. My Harley filled in a big hole in torque curve when I added a 2-1. The seat of the pants feelingbcould be torque (there is a massive hole on all the race pipes there) but the power glitch is a bit more anaomalous IMHO because it is so small.

WAF,

I appreciate the honest and reliable AR info. I pick up my 1199S tomorrow and told the dealer to hold off installing the full Terms for now. For my style of riding, the stock setup is plenty. I would be mainly looking at the AR to gain a better sound as the extra Dbs equate to better safety. Please continue to post your progress. Something tells me I'll be following your lead. Too bad I'm not a techie. Will have to rely on someone else if the labor gets to be outside my comfort level. I basically know how to put gas in it and ride.

Certainly sounds good, really raw, amazing under acceleration but I guess it's got no mufflers so we're really just hearing the real bike! Bike's going in for second tune tomorrow and 41T so by the end of the week should have more to report.

Can you feel the dip around 6-7 k with the AR? I had the Termi slips, mapping, and 41t updates done, and I swear that "turbo lag" feeling at that rpm has disappeared. Obviously it's still there based on the dyno charts, but I can't feel it anymore.

Only at full throttle but doesn't spoil my enjoyment because I'm rarely running that hard except at the track. The Tuneboy tune has been great.

Glad to hear you are getting good numbers. I did my first track day on friday and was pleasantly surprised with how the bike ran with the AR system and stock tune. As I mentioned in another thread. On track heat was a non issue, lumpy throttle was not a problem. Constant throttle could definitely be improved. The Rapidbike will hopefully improve this. If it does and all goes well this (inconel) system with Rapidbike will have cost me $3500.00 which is comparable to other systems out there price wise. The other options all look the same as stock and imo sound nowhere near as good. I do not know the weight of the other systems but I am guessing they are heavier than the AR. I do not care about the weight that much but I am sure others do.

Unfortunately the Pani will probably not see too much track time for the rest of this year as I am picking up a track prepped SV650 this evening. It looks like Ill be doing the bulk my track days at NHMS in Loudon and in my hands the Pani is just way too much bike at that track.

I replaced the stock rear shock with an ohlins ttx from Kyleracing and I have to say it was possibly the best upgrade I can remember ever having on a bike. This thing is planted right out of the box.

So in summary, if the rapidbike sorts out the fueling i'll be very happy. If further tinkering is required I would've probably preferred to go another route or left it stock. One thing I will say is that the sound of this thing bouncing off the wall on the straight at Loudon is unbelievable.

Still no update, workshop behind, will hopefully get it back Monday evening. Luckily HP4 will keep me busy ;)

Hey Mr Wafatboy HP4 pilot. Congrats on the new bike. Just noticed. I am thinking about a K1300S for something more pillion friendly

Thanks mate! Will certainly keep me occupied but will never replace the Pani either. The K1300S looks awesome, I like the orange!

Highly recommened, that's about the only time I ride it anymore, or if I have a lot of supplies/groceries to haul around. :)

Had a couple of PMs asking about progress - sorry but we hit a snag and won't be able to post any results for at least 10 days, probably more like 2 weeks. Frustrating cause the 41T is on the bike now as well.

Carlo,,

Whats wrong with your bike???

We were doing some more tuning of the initial fuelling (pro-bono work from ProTwin as they were experimenting with the existing setup before doing the baffle swap, and btw they extracted another 3-4hp across the mid range and up-top so even on the more conservative dyno its now doing almost 180hp).

When they stripped down to do the swap they found the pipe had cracked around an exhaust bracket weld. AR are replacing that section and they are fabricating a new bracket with a larger contact area as a precaution. I expect to get the new section back in a week or so and AR have responded well.

I seem to remember some longevity issues being mentioned previously with regards to AR pipes???

yes there was ex race manager for some Aprilia team that stated AR pipes always failed and blew apart....

It's a PITA I agree, and it does seem like BS for something like this to happen but I'm going to keep the pipe because I still prefer the aesthetic, the sound, and the bike is running better than ever thanks to the tuning work of ProTwin and the Tuneboy software. Initially I considered swapping back to the Termi slips but I quickly realised that I genuinely didn't want to. If something else were to fail then it would be a different story but for now I'm lovin the sound of this visceral monster (or at least I will be when I get it back on the road/track),

You're a patient man:D Glad you're happy with it (or will be once its sorted). You've definitely earned the right to be satisfied after this whole process.
