Austin Racing Inconel Install - Part II

...and lets be clear its not 'crazy' or 'foolish' to post here as a manufacture or retailer but it is worth tempering your claims.

Lets just leave the mud slinging now, because the facts get lost every time we go down this road.

Waf, good job! If you look past the chaff, this was a very useful thread. It was informative for all, those with/without AR intentions, Termi bound, or Base. It was a wealth of info that you paid dearly for, and no one else would have. And remember, this is not a manufacture's forum, it an owner's. There is a reason they (manufacturers) have their own, and control them. We all learned how difficult it is to upset Ducati's original intentions and get even more performance out of a wonderful bike.

....very emotional.....

If people are upset about exhuast not making claimed hp. Ducati claimed 1199 makes 195 crank hp. BMW claims 193. Has anyone see or heard of 1199 making more hp than BMW on dyno?

lets make this clear, 195 at the crank is perfectly reasonable given the wheel numbers we have seen these days. a different problem is BMW reporting lower than actual numbers. it used to be, at least with cars, that BMW would report wheel hp rather than crank, that might be the explanation

sounds wonderful.....full termis dont sound no where as nice as this and thats y i sold mine.....u need to be heard in phila....so you dont get hit by the terrible drivers here smh

How many baffles did u have in the exhaust at the point of the dyno WAF? 1, 2, or none?

1 baffle. We are going to re-wrap the baffle to see if we can deepen the sound a tiny bit and we're also going to re-time with the baffle on the right side of the bike instead of the left in an attempt to remove the 6-7k power hole.

was that advice from rich to try or are u guys jus experimenting right now?.....also why would you want to deepen the sound....does it not sound good in person?

I think unfortunate that you cannot keep your post focused on your product, and you continue to talk about posters. I really wish you would stay off of this thread as you promised twice, and post to the one you asked created for you as well. I have said this before, but you cannot leave it alone. If your product is really this good, it can speak for itself.

You just cant resist and you really don't get it...these threads are about us sharing our real world, independent experiences of products and services we have experienced.

Unfortunately it's nowhere near as cut and dried as you post, and regardless how many times you post that old info I'll post again so that members don't miss the reality of my real world tests.

I've kept things very factual and supported by testing and we were heading towards a good place. However I can't let those statements stand without rebuttal on a thread I've started. If you would like to start your own AR thread that's your decision.

Same bike, same dyno, same day, no baffles for maximum power just bolting on the system did not yield any improvements over my Termi slips and performance was no better/no worse than the Full Termi system also tested that day on the same dyno This was confirmed by two expert tuners that build and race Ducatis.

It would be unfair for anyone to allow anyone to buy this system expecting to see gains with no tuning module or fuelling mods if they have slips, or expecting to see it to beat a Termi full system
http://ducati1199.com/ducati-1199/4232-ar-inconel-install.html

Also no-one would seriously ride this bike with an AR exhaust with no baffles, it's mean sounding but way too loud, so if you are considering this pipe for road use the 'no baffles' numbers are meaningless.

There has been no bashing in this thread and I respectfully ask that you let it run its course because it our forum and you, in our professional capacity, are a guest.

Trauma,

His post is focused on the product and also makes mention of a few, un-named posters and his opinion of their behavior. He is entitled to state such just as many here have questioned his.

When is enough, enough around here? Where are the mods in this place?

It sounds amazing, deepen is probably the wrong way to describe it, just trying to 'legalise' (quieten) it without losing power by keeping one baffle.

In the original email before we fitted Rich said run the left baffle only, but working through the latest results with him he suggested we run the right baffle only to see if we can eliminate the hole in power at 6-7k. So we are experimenting in consultation?

It was not focused soley on the product, he has to go after posters, and contunues not to take the high road as all other vendors have. Not to mention Waf has spent thousands testing baffles that AR should have provided info on on their site. We do not need a mon for this, AR just needs to bow out as promised, and let this thread run its course.

Big props to WAf for chasing some answers. It has helped me in my quest to get the Pani sorted out. I have ordered a tuneboy kit and got a smokin deal via a group buy for ARs exhaust. Thanks WAf!

Looking forward to how you get on with tweaking the baffles. When riding, is the mid range dip noticeable?

Yes definitely, without a tune the bike feels flat across midrange compared to Slips. With a Tuneboy tune it's a lot less noticeable except in that 6-7k area and then only at full throttle style riding!

It's just a straight pipe, so this is expected. I hope the baffling changes help your 6-7k range.

It doesn't have to be.

Are each and every one of your and other's posts focused directly on each thread's topic?

What is it with this place?

No, but when he attacks posters, the thread goes to s___t in a hand basket, like throwing gas on a fire. I know it is pointless, I have yet to see someone ask someone to do/not do something on this forum, and them say "ok". Rich used to be better in the beginning, then he turned into a rabid dog against anyone that dared to critize. Threatening lawsuits for chrissakes, nuts.
