Austin Racing Inconel Install - Part II

Ducati Forum

Help Support Ducati Forum:

It is quite coincidental he signed up the day after Rich and Reganc "left", even though they continued to lurk for awhile. He is obviuosly UK, so either Rich sneaking back (he was kicked of another forum as well). or a very close friend or co-worker. No biggy, we can handle it or him if a real person :D

Lol. I smell a rat:D

i guess your AR pipe didn't break, and that's after the insane rigmarole of tuning (even tho manufacturer claims it not being necessary etc), not to mention these here comical threads.

WAf you are a certifiable masochist ;)

let's just ignore "Burnsy".

I PM'd 'Burnsy' after his first post, politely. This was his response.

Wow..

What a classless attack on you.... Ironic really.. coz to me you have supported AR way beyond what I would've given all the hoops you have jumped through....

based on the PM that's now public evidence, i'd say it's pretty self evident. but sure, let's take a vote.

all in favor say aye.

Aye here!

Shouldn't we vote or something. You can't just change titles on a whim:D

You gotta laugh! Just misplaced loyalties (and poor taste). It's ironic because with the extra HP we tuned out of it before we discovered the break that puts us at 195hp. When we get the replacement part back I'm pretty sure we'll be able to get rid of that dip in the power curve and the wrapping of the baffle should nicely round off the sound. You gotta be happy with that! Rich reckons it will ship end of this week so should be on the road the following week!

Glad to hear you are getting good numbers. I did my first track day on friday and was pleasantly surprised with how the bike ran with the AR system and stock tune. As I mentioned in another thread. On track heat was a non issue, lumpy throttle was not a problem. Constant throttle could definitely be improved. The Rapidbike will hopefully improve this. If it does and all goes well this (inconel) system with Rapidbike will have cost me $3500.00 which is comparable to other systems out there price wise. The other options all look the same as stock and imo sound nowhere near as good. I do not know the weight of the other systems but I am guessing they are heavier than the AR. I do not care about the weight that much but I am sure others do.

Unfortunately the Pani will probably not see too much track time for the rest of this year as I am picking up a track prepped SV650 this evening. It looks like Ill be doing the bulk my track days at NHMS in Loudon and in my hands the Pani is just way too much bike at that track.

I replaced the stock rear shock with an ohlins ttx from Kyleracing and I have to say it was possibly the best upgrade I can remember ever having on a bike. This thing is planted right out of the box.

So in summary, if the rapidbike sorts out the fueling i'll be very happy. If further tinkering is required I would've probably preferred to go another route or left it stock. One thing I will say is that the sound of this thing bouncing off the wall on the straight at Loudon is unbelievable.

Hey Hey!!! We met at the track!! That pipe did sound sweet.

To be honest I didn't even read it! I'm downloading it now to catch up.

Oh and I probably should omit the 'very' as well, the Harley did have to make way for the HP4!

Love those moments, priceless :)

first step in winning back customers for Rich would be his public mea maxima culpa.

AR failures were officially stated as common from the Spitlath guys, already quoted below on this forum, post #981:
http://ducati1199.com/ducati-1199/4232-ar-inconel-install-50.html

So, race teams did have failures, the info has been "put up" as you requested. Please don't deny these failures, Rich already did that in the other forums and it just pissed people off there too and pushed more people AWAY from buying AR based on Rich's attitude and now yours. You both hurt AR's reputation with the way you attack members. If you want to hurt AR's sales even more, by all means keep writing antagonistic posts. On a side note, I actually LIKE the AR exhaust, and would've considered it based on looks and sound alone. I really do like the product itself. But I would never consider giving AR my money after I read Rich's responses and threats of lawsuits etc. The way to win back potential customers (which this forum is full of), is to show factual posts demonstrating the product's good qualities, the past racing success of AR, heck, pics of AR bikes winning races is good marketing, respond only professionally without taking anything personally, provide only answers without opinions if representing a company, don't badmouth other companies, etc... not by childishly attacking members.

Perfectly stated!

Don't hold your breath...:D I do not think that Rich is capable of such things...

I can't believe how aggressive his followers are. I don't know if I would defend my own company as aggressively as bugsy is defending him. Especially when the evidence is right there for all to see:confused:

His supporters are as aggressive as he is (was)... Maybe they're the same people.. lol

I don't understand these statements, why did he keep using Akras if they were failing? AR is the only failure repoted to our forum so far.

  1. Never had a failure neither did many race teams around the globe I worked with.
  2. My race 1098 ate Akra headers at silly amounts.

I don't think he's concerned with actual facts interfering with his agenda driven fiction.

In the interests of full disclosure we did have a member that had a termi slips burn through..IIRC. but only one..Akras are really unavailable as of right now for the 1199 but I don't recall ever hearing of a failure of one of their pipes..
There's no doubt AR pipes have failed..in various uses.. No idea why anyone would deny the evidence..

Back in my gixxer forum days, we had a few members have carbon fiber discoloration on some Akras, but that was the extent any "failures" I ever heard of, and that forum was much larger.

I would bet there are failures of various kinds for any brand if sold in mass quantities. Bugsy said only 100 or so AR pipes have been sold for the 1199. Hardly a major manufacturer in the big picture. I would look to the major racing organizations to see what is being used. Motogp, WSB, even here in the AMA...Akra has a HUGE presence. AR, not so much.
