Me, too. And I might enjoy it more with a really nice Inconel exhaust system that ups the power a bit....which brings us back to the point of this thread!
Rich, can you enlighten me as to the effect of blocking off the air injection ports in general operation. Is this something that should be done just for tuning, or as a permanent part of exhaust installation?
It's my understanding that this is done to burn residual hydrocarbons in the exhaust stream, thereby reducing emissions. I suspect that disabling air injection might harm the catalytic converter in the OE mufflers, but not with an aftermarket system. The consumption of these hydrocarbons inside the exhaust might also contribute to the rumored heat problem with 1199. Reckon blocking air injection permanently with an aftermarket system is a good idea, or is it unnecessary?
