Help Support Ducati Forum:

I totally agree that we will never be as one on moderation and the type/style/degree of such... But personally attacking people ..suggesting they die/commit suicide seems an obvious cause for friction..No??

I really thinks its ironic that the people complaining that threads get clogged are in fact clogging the threads...

This is a Vendor created thread...should've been in the Market Place from day one...

Noun
vulgar. A particle of fecal matter attached to the anal hair.
vulgar. A foolish or inept person.

Seems very odd behaviour on here with regards to how AR and its products are viewed..those of us that are very skeptical about this pipe and AR's policies post to that effect..and do not go after its supporters... those who are believers in this company constantly attack the unconvinced.... this has been the story all along...

really good stuff...

I'm moving to a forum that actually talks about the issues and not bashes people. Good day everyone.

ducati.ms ....and i promise you that you won't find the behavior of certain posters allowed there. i came back here after Duc said that he was going to be employing changes, immediate ones, and bringing on mods to help protect certain issues from happening....personally i don't think anything has changed. :(

It became obvious a long time ago that many of you are only concerned with self agrandisement via inflated posting numbers by reiterating the same nonsense over and over, and mutual support of all the other peas in the nut-swinging pod.

Duc, please appoint a mod or two who might remove this[/B], and all of the other disruptive posts, from this and all the forum's other threads so that the community might have some sense of structure and a semblance of relevance.
As to the rest of us....if we ignore the trolls...not really the correct term but I don't know a term to apply to a small group .
.

^ how i see it.

A mod or mods? Not sure this portal believes in the concept, that's my opinion. Hec, I'm not sure rules even exist here.

Rich

Post in the MarketPlace then.... Thats my suggestion....

What would that really change? Would you also suggest that helmet and video cam threads be moved from this forum as well? I'd hope so.

Is there another viable 1199 forum? I'm interested too.

Give Ducati.MS a look....an established Ducati portal, good folks, a wealth of information, and a Superbike section that could benefit from owners of the Panigale.

Ok....A suggestion to all those who keep threatening/suggesting they are going to leave..... Leave!!!

All correct. There were never rules here from day one. Only occasional mod "suggestions", and only 1 ban. The attacking people is the only real problem here. And the extent of the writings (Cloner's latest) is just insane. The amount of time people want to spend showing people how eloquently they can dis someone, nuts.

Everyone, accept the posts, whether you like them or not! This is an open forum, you can post whatever you want - whereever you want.

Do we have a rule that states all vendor threads go in Marketplace? I wasn't sure that was a rule or just one of those "a couple people suggested it and may think it is a rule, but we don't really have any rules as such".

I like ducati.ms, but there is no Pani information in the superbike section and their "sister site" is terrible, IMO. That was a tactical blunder on the part of the site owners, IMHO. They could have had a subsection or even Panigale content in their superbike section and captured a large share of the online Panigale forum folks since a lot of people were already on .ms because of other Ducatis they own. The sister site concept killed it completely. Now you have no Pani folks in the superbikes section and the sister site is a wasteland. Just my 2 cents. It's worth exactly what you paid for it! :)

Our only "rules" are those posted by Duc in the forum, here is that one:

"Please post your commercial-related threads in the Marketplace. Thank you. "

Obviously we have no "rule" ..and yes its a suggestion..But if you are a vendor pedaling your wares surely that's the very definition of the Market Place????

...and you overcharged..:D

Hmm..

Dingleberries - 1, Capt CF - 0

Unless I disagree about this being a commercial thread. :D

I thought that was to sell stuff? This is a thread about a product like any other product, but I don't think we necessarily are at odds, we just interpret the structure differently. Without codified rules that we can refer to the purpose of any section of the forum is anybody's guess and open to interpretation.

I've toyed with the idea of starting a new site with mods able to a shut down threads that get out of control after a warning. They also control where vendors post, and control the spam. When Duc went AWOL I set up the basic infrastructure so if that happens again I will set it live.

That would fill a niche that is, IMHO, absent in all the 1199 forum offerings online at the moment. Folks that want access to information in a structured environment with more developed rules and less of a "free for all" would welcome it. Others will bristle at the censorship and will stay here or go elsewhere where there is less regulation. Since like particles attract other like particles it would sort itself out. :)

not enough people hopped on the 1199tech train during the spam inferno...

While I am pontificating I feel the need to keep going. The thread is already derailed so little harm can be done at this point. Mods, feel free to delete if this is off topic. :)

Another option that I have tried with forums is setting up a sub-area that has less restrictions than the main area. Kind of like the "mosh pit" if you will. Basically, it is an "anything goes" area that is not moderated so folks that like to banter about off-topic stuff, hurl insults, etc. etc. can have at it without disrupting the rest of the forum. One of the issues with that is obviously the lack of content. One thing dingleberries enjoy is letting others provide the content and then coming along and poking fun at it, derailing it, adding 2 cents, off topic comments, etc. etc. so it is very hard for said dingleberries to restrain themselves from infecting the rest of the forum.

Technically, anytime Rich posts, it is to sell his pipe to those that don't own it. He could handle any issues on an individual basis. If I had an problem with a Belle order for instance, I wouldn't bring it up here to Gunny or Randy, I would contact Belle directly. Anyway, I think Rich has proven here and elsewhere, he's not a good internet based "people" person, and needs to confine hs interactions with folks in person or via phone/email.

Thank you (yes, I did just type that) ;) ......but,

posting of threads where they don't belong is something that common sense should preclude one from doing. I don't agree that one should post a thread "wherever they want" because if they did, the forum would quickly turn into a mis-placed thread cesspool, and I'm pretty sure that not many here want that (well, on second thought). There is a reason for why sub-forums exist, why some have such difficulty in starting threads in the respective categories is beyond me.

Isn't there at least one mod here?
