This ^^ its a bit hard to translate onto the internet comments sections but in real like giving each other .... is a natural way of deflating egos. Give a bit take a bit and life goes on :)
 
IMA thumb brake installed with all the lines set, got rid of the rear reservoir, we also trimmed the H2O CF radiator shroud so that we could turn the forks lock to lock. They cut a little CF bracket for the electronic module for the H&M Quickshifter so it’s not just flopping around down there, or worse, getting against something to hot and causing a failure. Domino GP grips installed too. She’s getting close to done.

Questions, what’s the gold stuff for (besides the obvious) Is that red bleeder on the rear master aluminum? Your forks are done as far as adjustability on the trees? You will have electrical problems with that thing but not to worry, we’ll be neighbors by that time and I’ll fix it. Ducatis idea of an electrical system is Phyllis Diller’s idea of a hair style.

gold stuff is heat reflective tape for the brake lines, there’s no where to run the IMA Brake lines without going through some very hot areas on the bike, and as you know hot brake fluid is not a good thing….we tried to run the lines where they would at least get good airflow even though they have to run along the engine and frame.

I liked where the trail adjustments were on the IMA triple tree BEFORE we put the extended swing arm and linear link, we have to see if those same settings work well after we ride it with the new rear end geometries.

I honestly don’t know about those brake line fittings….was gunna take months to get custom length from Fren Tubo, so they used a local company that cuts brake lines for everything from race bikes to Harleys….I brought up not wanting to use ‘expandable’ brake lines and they said no worries, they can make them out of anything we spec…..so far they haven’t taken a shortcut on anything at the shop, so not worried about it.

now that we sorted out the routing and line lengths, and with easy to remove track fairings on the bike, won’t be hard to replace those lines with Fren Tubo down the road if these don’t perform well.

Did you guys find a house yet? If not, be patient, but look everyday at what pops up on the market, or have a good RA do so for you. In this area something cool and unique for SoCal pops up out of nowhere, then it’s gone.

I’ll try to get some more pics of the top end of the engine abs wiring harness now that they’ve removed all the smog stuff abs put the block off plates on, still looks like spaghetti compared to your bike, but it way less messy looking.

If you want custom lines, Brad at Motion Superbike can do it. I ordered them on Wed I had them in my hands Fed Ex overnight on Thursday. He just needs the line measurements. He has the QD stuff too.

Serious question, do you ride with ear plugs?

I normally ride with foam 3M/Honeywell/Howard Leight corded ones. I think the Akrapovic w/o the baffles is on the cusp of too loud. I can't imagine what that Spark system will be.
 
The refining process is ongoing for sure but that’s nothing new for you coming from cars. Doing a great job man. Thanks for posting the pics

it’s a lot of fun, and glad I can add something useful, or at least interesting for somebody here.

and yeah, suspension will be next after this round, I just want to ride it though haha….I miss it.

One of the neighbors has a 1000 RR that he tracks but he also has a group of friends that get together and rent a track 3 times a month and they run super moto bikes, swears it’s the easiest way to learn to ride fast, and is just as fun as these bikes….so I’ll probably get or build a Supermoto bike to tool around on.
 
The Supermoto is a must have. I’m relatively pissed I didn’t build this last time out. The bike I sent you pics of was supposed to be a naked bike and somewhat of a sbk/supermoto hybrid but it got away from me. Maybe a good project when I get back and settled. Would be cool to build a couple of insane copies with all the good stuff

buy a KTM or Husq 450 and call it a day - IMO opinion one of the best off the rack bikes made...
