@Steven31371 Were you able to keep your turn signals, brake light, license plate, etc. after you swapped rear subframes?

If you get the Motoholders or Pierobon rear subframe I recommend getting these bits from MotoComposites too…they are significantly lighter than the plastic bits that came with the bike. When combined with the Motoholders subframe the assembly comes in 1 pound lighter than the one piece FullSix rear Subframe assembly, and total cost for everything is still about 1/3 of the FullSix unit

It’s remarkable how good RaceSeats.it is at making a seat exactly as you envision it from nothing but a written description lol.

I ordered another seat from them that’s even taller than the last one, the last one I requested 20 mm taller with squared sides. They sent me this:

They made it perfectly, but then I wanted to try going even taller with the seat after realizing I still had plenty of clearance to hook my leg on the tank extender without my outside leg riding too high up on the tank extender to pull the bike down. I also ride with one cheek on and one off at lean and without getting too graphic about it the squareness of the sides of the seat was doing a bit too much cheek spreading, it was really getting in there 😂😂😂. Good for ‘indexing’ to the right spot but a little too good haha.

For the next seat I simply said: “I need a 2nd seat that’s 50mm taller, with generally squared sides but slightly more rounded than the last one. With just a bit more taper at the front too.”

And they knocked the ball out of the park on the 1st try.

Looks familiar haha. Received my seat yesterday after it was stuck in Milan for a week.

I think you mentioned a few posts ago about needing some rubber grommets on the bottom of the seat? Any specifics on this?

No not rubber grommets, but where the seat screws down in the rear onto the subframe there some indent sleeve washers needed as RaceSeats doesn’t send them with the seats, meaning the retaining screws will just pass through the screw wholes in the seat, but you can pull those over from the existing seat on your bike usually

how tall are you? Iam 6 ft and that is hte reason for he big step, to straighten my back on hte straights and keep my weight forward everywhere else. Longer subframe is not going to do you any favors, weight needs to be forward if you are big...
yes they made the pad too

I’m 6’3 but with disproportionately long skinny legs, I’m super top heavy, with a big barrel chest and 250 pounds in gear lol picture a big Russian wrestler with long prison legs lol

I’m not fat, just big with about a 50 inch chest that’s almost as big front to back as side to side. Makes some unique changes getting into a good tuck even with the tallest possible windscreens. When chest is on the tank I’m still just too big to not catch a lot of air. The only thing that’s helped is getting my butt back as far as I can and raising the seat height so my torso is flatter across the bike on fast straights. I don’t get wheelie even with my butt that far back partly because I’m so top heavy that my chest on the tank helps keep the front down, as does the Pierobon extended swing arm, and the Superleggera wings.

The front is really planted on long hard accelerations at this point…but we’ll see this weekend if the higher seat, and over the next several track days if an even higher seat and taller windscreen help me get into a better tuck. Lengthening the rear subframe is a last resort, a back up plan if all else fails

Without wishing to simplify the onerous task of lengthening the swingarm, you could just buy longer bolts, and some spacers equal to the extra length of the bolts.
Go in 10mm increments.

Aren’t you a clever lad lol

In some ways that would be easier, cause you could keep the same seat mounting points and not mess with getting those measurements exactly right. Easier to have RaceSeats put a little extra padding on the front of the seat to reach the tank so there’s no gap than it would be to make a new seat base.

You’d have to find the exact right size spacers with small tolerances so that subframe wouldn’t wiggle around under load, and maybe weld the spacers to the subframe for good measure, but could work if carefully done.

What’s the best way to get in touch with raceseats? I sent an enquiry through the website about 4 days ago and no reply yet.

Torque the bolts up correctly, use thread lock, no need to weld anything. Your brake calipers use the same method.
I use a UK website to order spacers from (after testing with washers, obvs) accu.co.uk More than likely there's a US based company doing the same thing.

Is the pad fitted to a bump out on track fairings?

I'm still on street fairings and would like to get further back not only for a better tuck but to see if I could get my arm in front of my legs in the tuck. As it is now, my arms are on the outside of my legs. I think minimizing the pad height would be much cheaper and easier than extending the subframe.

@Steven31371 I got the Zero Gravity touring windscreen and Vulturbike tank cover yesterday. Two thoughts, the Vulturbike nailed it on the tank cover. It's very high quality and very sturdy. I like it much better than the other one I had. Granted the other one would be find if you wanted to skim coat it and put some time in finishing it or were just going to throw it on a track bike without much regard for cosmetics but the Vulturbike one is next level. I see what you mean about longer screws too.

The windscreen...eh. Love the height but the fit isn't the best. I had to remove some material from the two flanges where the two bolts fit on both sides so it would clear the fairing near where the mirrors bolt on. The fit of the DP and WRS screens was much better.

Agreed to all, but with regards to me and you, that windscreen is so far the best option, have you rode with it on yet?

Next week I should get the one I ordered from Cruciata, they claim their’s is even taller. Will report on it when I have it.
