These use the later Pani fairings. So the later SF side covers should work? I'm with you. If you sell your original tank etc. worse case you're even (at least prepaint).
Front half of the tank red. From where the seat begins black. Black bag mounts. Red seat cowl. Wonder how much paint prep these need?
Thanks I'll look.
Rade missed an opportunity to design something more like the Kramer (Roto Industries) subframe/tank for the V4. By including the front part of the tank, it’s not possible to change the seat height. Kramer has an eccentric bolt in the tank to allow you to easily increase the seat height so that you could make ergo and cg adjustments.
Add a thicker seat pad?
True but you’d be able to more easily adjust cg with the subframe height. Win-win.
It DOES have an eccentric bolt in the rear part of the subframe to adjust seat height
Perfect. I was thinking about a tall seat but maybe not needed. Just a nice design.
I've decided to use 1098/1198 black metallic on the tank with cagiva style silver/gold graphics. Then on the seat portion wrap it with carbon fiber cloth and pour the resin on it in place. I had a roll of carbon fiber cloth somewhere. I see no downside to the tank. I'll be able to hang off more readily and it holds more gas. And the seats flat like a proper superbike.
Nice. Nevermind then haha
The rear bolt for the subframe is an eccentric that allows you to adjust seat height a bit, in a similar way the HP4 RACE does, pretty cool.

I do have a soft spot for that last font as it takes me back to the first Ducatis I saw - the guy who taught me to ride a bike had an old 900SS and a Darmah both in black with gold accents and the logo in that font.
I also liked when the R actually came with carbon bodywork and it was red but the black parts, including the logo, were simply exposed carbon - it looked normal but the details revealed something a bit cooler beneath the surface.
Vulturebike made a modern version of exactly that, but they want a ridiculous $8k for them.
Beautiful though.

Actually, and as much as I'd hate to let facts get in the way of another argument, he did mention it prior to your post. How was I supposed to know it had eccentrics? There’s no mention of this anywhere on their site and Steven didn’t mention it.

I like the 70/80's 900ss bevel drive graphics also. The four stripes below Ducati on the tank are integral. Comes as one decal. The only other decals on those is the smaller DESMO that sits on the rear fairing edge, its match on the bum stop and a small made in italy behind the gas cap. Talk about a slow steering motorcycle even with inch over shocks and the front dropped so the fairing touches the front fender under braking (about as steep as you can make these) takes a tug. Great motor, good brakes and a seriously clunky gearbox.
