But do you have practical experience on this???-andyb

Well yes! Anyone that has ever used a 998 mono or a 999 rear ally subframe will of experienced it cracking..... plus some of the shoit manufacturers of V4 subframes also crack too

Google that if you like?

I wonder why they went with rubber instead of plastic or metal? Maybe solid mounting puts too much stress on the holes or a vibration thing. I’m sure there’s a design reason.

Either way grab a rod of Delrin and have a machine shop lathe 4 bushes to the size you need. Prob take them 5 mins.

Remember, these guys background is in making tanks used in cross country races on dirtbikes, like the Rally Dhakar, on those bikes those rubber bushings are probably a good thing.

Small thing to fix, when I tracked a C5 Corvette years ago it was a well known mod to change the rubber suspension bushings to polyurethane or Delrin. Sorta reminds me of that.

Ah so you’re saying I have to wait to break my bike for me to have practical experience and be an expert? In light of this revelation, since I had problems with that shoit Raceseat and tried to fix it (which gives me practical experience), I’m an expert on this topic by this logic. So as an expert on PV4 seats, you can shut the .... up about that matter and consider it sorted.

Almost every material has a fatigue life except for steel used below its yield. So I'm adding a brace. SD is right the PA11 will get more yieldy (is that a word?) as the temperature rises. Did I mention the stock V4 SF steel subframe weighs 5000 lbs. I'm going to bolt it to the garage ceiling beams add a chain fall and use it to pull V-8's out of trucks. No one is going to put a 500 lb woman on the back of this bike. WTF Ducati.

Colorite doesn't seem to make paint for the recent ducati's. I was also going to paint with a touch up gun. I'm not sure what's out there. We can't get lacquer here anymore. Lacquer with some sort of clear urethane over the top is the easiest thing to do. I have a friend who paints rich folks planes but he's got so much work I hate to ask.

I actually enjoy tinkering around with doing delivery myself. I get a similar kind of satisfaction from it that some people get from doing the mechanical stuff.

I was doing some research to see what primers stick to PA11 Nylon best. Rustoleum Plastics Primer SEEMS to be the one.

Then I’ll do the sides of the tank and seat/tail section in a satin black with the top of the tank in Rosso Red

The colorite paint is water based. I'll ask them what nozzle and pressure to spray at. I guess the medium doesn't matter since you're still shooting clear over it. That yellow with black with gold wheels race rep is stunning.

The take away being as long as that's what was done with your other fairings it should reasonably match. At 20 feet or 20 MPH it won't matter either way...the 20/20 match.

So the original plan was to paint the remaining white primer parts matte black…but I kinda like the look of this, especially when the black has cap and black tank grip pads go on to balance things out…thoughts?

Either way I need to let it cure for 3 days before I do anything else, the masking tape was pulling up the primer in a few places. Annoying but fixable…and…track part.

Looks good. Aren't the white parts on the tank high contact areas? Will the primer be durable enough? I could be talking nonsense of course.
