You will love the Rapid Bike I bought the Racing version.. It really helped it pull stronger.. The more you ride it the better it will run...

Yaman is a good dude.. He really helped me a lot..

My 1299 has developed some other issue and even the RB Racing unit doesnt help it on the under 15% throttle surging etc.. I even installed the plug to take the RB unit out of the equation It still does the same crap..

In the end It will probably be something simple like a loose wire or some bad sensor but no codes are ever thrown so the dealer cannot find it.. in the mean time it is not much fun to ride it ....:(

Keep riding the bike it will smooth out even more.. Later fi you still want it fine tuned more.. Yaman can fine tune it for you by doing a online connection with your bike..

Hey guys, new to the board and having same problem. It used to happen once in a while and now every ride it happens. It disables quick shift but doesn't buck and stall anymore. Ducati says it's a known problem and there's no fix except shutting the bike off and starting it again. The c.e.l comes on every time now but never stutters or stalls as I am using sport mode with no quick shift and ENG- high for throttle response.
It's quite annoying and I've only got 5000km on her. I am a licensed tech so I call straight ........ when I do diagnostics everyday....... This winter I'll strip it down and see what's up. There's clearly an issue but ducati doesn't want to fork out the Cash to everyone until I prove what's wrong.

I'm told when using it at low speeds - is what causes the fault.
It may have damaged a sensor on the quick shift would be my guess. Because at low speeds the ecm has to rev match Downshifts and its way harder on the drivetrain. if you don't press hard enough it kicks in and out of gear.

We're taking video at the airport tomorrow with a closed runway. I'll have more to update then as I'll be ....... with the bike all day safely.

Have a great weekend everyone.

I think it is ......... to pay $26K for a supposedly "premium" motorcycle and have to NOT USE the quick shifter feature on the bike.!!! ..Ducati needs to buck up and fix the damn problems on their bikes..

AS far as the dying on you Mine will do it when it just sitting there at idle before I even sit on it... OR sitting at a stoplight with the clutch pulled in... Or when I am turning mid corner !

Fun stuff like ...never knowing when you will be embarrassed leaving a parking lot and it suddenly stalls on you and others think you are just some squirrel that is just learning to ride...
This is my last Ducati.. The manufacturer just avoids issues (that are obviously not just an isolated issue with a few).. and they just act like there is no problem.. They have in inherent design issue either with the motor or the electronics and cannot or will not fix it.

They have obviously overbuilt the engine and after 4 to 5 years they still cannot get it fixed. I would not even consider the new 4 cylinder they will come out with... There is just not enough factory support and unless you are rich enough to just buy one and not worry if it screws up . If you don't mind the stalling in traffic, the terrible surging and bucking and kicking at city speeds , the massive heat that burns your calves etc.. Expensive maintenance costs and of course the long wait for the dealer to even get to it...Especially since they have to let the so called "factory rep" look at if first before they are allowed to do anything..
If all these things don't bother you...? Then it will be a great bike...! It is beautiful and sounds awesome and is fast and handles like a dream but at a cost...

Just like a beautiful girlfriend.. Gets a lot of attention and admiring glances from your friends etc.. :)
However is a total ..... to deal with for most everything else and is very expensive to keep up ie;keep happy Sooner or later no matter how beautiful she is, you get tired of putting up with her .....LOL

Too bad my dream bike turned into a nightmare...
