BrenTuning Flash Development (Tech Talk)

So is the flash being sold now? What's the advantage to bringing the bike to you to have it tuned there vs. a ship out tune? I know it would be more dialed in for that specific bike but wouldn't it be close enough?

Shipping is fine and the bike will be smooth with more power. If you were to opt for a custom tune, you would have to be around MA, USA for them to tune it. It would probably squeeze a couple more hp out of it with a custom tune.

Are you going to do a dyno run with the exhaust and filter without the Bren tune first as well to see the actual affects of the tune?

I was going to do one with the AKRA tune but my dealer wont install it for me, even though i have the code. They aren't the most capable of dealers and unfortunately the next closest ducati dealer to me is 3000 miles away across the pacific.

I'm sure without a tune, the full akra and sprint will probably make me lose power so imho a dyno run is a waste of money for me.

Yes, I ran my bike without the Akra file for a little and it was horrible. Flat spots, stalling, sometimes it wouldn't start, engine light and warning light.

Same here. Only ran it about 100 miles so far. I don't want to dyno because the peaks and troughs would probably make me depressed lol. Got the tuner last night and brentuning has my data to play with today. Cant wait!

Let us know what you think. I'm on the fence with either going up there and dropping it the bike or get the hand held flash set up.

Will do. Just got the tune via email this morning so ill try to upload tonight. Ill give a butt dyno report and ill schedule a dyno session next week to see real numbers.

The butt dyno definitely feels the gains. Quick shifter is quicker, more low end grunt and smoother acceleration. Wheelie control light on through 3rd and 4th gear from 4krpm-15krpm. Gapplebees to my good friends S1krr that made 198whp on a dynojet.

Display says "Racing Pro" on the right on startup

The first file didn't take and threw an error code on the handheld reader when i was trying to reflash the bike. I also had to re-upload the file on the reader about 4 times, but it may have been my computer.

The second file worked and it was a pretty quick process, only taking a few minutes. The files supplied to me were a stock map, map for 92 octane, and map for 100 octane.

Glad you like it! If you do a dyno test for before and after, make sure you've either already done the dyno test before the flash or follow the procedures they recommend to go back to stock and have the adaptions reset to stock. It will skew results if done improperly.

Thanks! I did a stock baseline with no mods. I'm ok with going off of that as a before and after.

So we have a place in Kohala Ranch Big Island. No cops on the big Island and a lot of open roads. I just have to ask why anyone would need a bike with 200hp and looking for more where the average speed on a good day is 35mph. Not to mention Honolulu has awful road conditions, crazy drivers and the cops drive under cover cars. A Multistrada, I could understand. Great place for a moped though. That thing must be an oven in Waikiki traffic.

We don't need need any of these things, technically do we? We always ride in early morning before traffic builds up and pretty much only on weekends. Its definitely nothing like big island...Kohala mountain road and saddle road are on my bucket list. Me and my buddies plan on shipping our bikes out there in a few months to enjoy some real roads.
