Bad news. Dynod today and was seriously disappointed

Stock hp: 183.4
Bren tune 92 octane, Full akrapovic, Sprint filter hp: 188. Did a 5th gear pull too: 189.89

i officially have the slowest "tuned" v4 in the country.

Naaaa dyno numbers are crap. What matters is where you were and then after the modin that’s the number your looking for. Dyno numbers very so much it’s nuts. I have a Husqvarna FS450 Super Moto and stock I think it put down like 58HP then I modded the crap out of it and after all the mods I rode her.... She ripped and the difference was fantastic! Then I went back to the same dyno and she made the same damn power!!! Talk about a kick to the nuts!

What did the power curve look like? 92 Octane suuuucks. Difference in power delivery at least?

I definitely feel the same pain after almost $7k in mods to get 5hp LOL.

The curve showed steady gains across the band so that's good. Brentune sent a tune for 100 octane so i might try that. One station on the island has 100 octane. Might be worth it.

Power delivery, it feels waaay faster but the numbers are disappointing.

Ah yes and this perhaps brings up a rather interesting scenario out local Bren rep teh1337ftw can address. Can Bren send me a list of modifications that were made to the base map?

I am waiting to hear about the results of a stock bike with just their tune as well. I know they can get MORE out of an aftermarket exhaust, but I'm looking for improvement of the tune itself (factory) than support for aftermarket exhausts.

Well, I guess my point is in there somewhere. They don't send you any data. Their PC software does not allow you to view bin files. How do you know what you paid for? Where is the side by side between the base and the Bren tune in a visual format so the buyer can see what they just spent a few hundred bucks on?

$1600 for me.

Guys, please do your research before you give Bren your money. They’re getting roasted on Facebook over bs claims and have been well known as clowns in the S1000RR community for quite some time now.

A few hundred? Its 1300 dollars for a V4. I wish it would dynamically tune for conditions at that price.. I dont mean to hate, but the Ducati tax is rough sometimes

Austin Racing sells their little slip on pipe for 2500 dollars..

I'd like to help you out but...

LOL Awesome. We now have the ability to read the Bren bin files and look at everything they have done or not done in their maps. We are going to look at the stock maps and do side by sides. It's going to be interesting to see what people have been paying for. From my own personal experience (recent to Bren) their advertising and their deliverable is a bit of a mismatch. More to come.

very interested to see/hear this. I plan on going with the Rexer tune

Checking in here. Been out due to a friend passing on his V4 recently.

LOL on Val. He's mad because Bren refused to sell him a tune for his bike so he goes to pages and bashes them until he gets banned which happens pretty much immediately. He's not allowed on most bike pages on FB now lol. He also thinks the FBI monitors this site and FB for some reason.

The guy that has the Termi exhaust keeps delaying the dyno. I now have a V4R, V4S with standard exhaust and a V4S with Akra and tune. I want to do all three but the Termi guy is delaying due to some mechanical issues he keeps having. I'm trying to push for dyno time.

I wouldn't concern yourself too much with numbers. If you flashed the bike with exhaust when before it was stock, it's laughable how vast the difference is. It's definitely worth more than a couple HP. On a DynoJet you can set your tire to 20psi and make 180whp, then pump it up to 50psi and make over 200whp. A dyno should just be to dial in AFR. Slips, track times, even dragy times are more consistent with a pickup then a dyno. Dyno's have too many variables and I don't know one person that's won a race on a dyno.

I'm curious how you're going to compare bren's bin to the original file when there's no hardware to read a V4 ecu at the chipset.

If you have the stock bin, please PM me and email it to me. The only file that's floating around is the Akra file and it has no checksum.

Also make sure the bren file you got isn't just a seeded Rexxer file.

With that last post You pretty much just confirmed the fact that you are associated with Bren Tuning. You signed up on the board to promote Bren tuning. If I buy a map from Bren, load it into the ecu using the Bren box and then use another software program to download the map directly from the ecu into the program on the PC, I can read the Bren map. I can see the A/F maps, ignition, ATV etc. I can see all of the changes that Bren made in a side by side to a stock map or any other map. I also now know what we Received vs what we paid for.

Your profile states that you are in SoCal. Why don’t you come down to the shop and you can look at the software and data real time. We can show you what was purchased from Bren and what was sent. We’re in Newport Beach right next to JW airport. Love to get get your input.

Sorry to hear about your friend.

Why would a company refuse to sell their tune to an individual? Seems like there's more to the story there. It's not like Val was a one off case.

You say don't worry about the numbers but we haven't forgotten about this gem (which you all also ended up deleting).

Of course you're going to get roasted when you claim that a flash bumped up a tired 9 year old Beamer almost 40 hp and put it in MotoAmerica territory. Why aren't the guys on this forum seeing anything more than single digit gains? Because it's a canned tune no better than the Akra upmap.
