Build Threads and the current state of the board

Ducati Forum

Help Support Ducati Forum:

Paul my friend you might as well post it up. I’m thinking about doing a “how to fuel you bike at the gas station” thread right now. I just need to figure out how to work this damn gas pump

twist it really hard. If that doesn’t work try pulling up and twisting

maybe get a can opener out to pry it off? Keep it close cause you’ll need it to open ur gas can

Now I feel real dumb. I just asked my guy who fills up my toys with gas and he said all you gotta do is push down and twist

now back to my $13/pint ice cream

I’m out too. It’s been fun guys. Back to the underground. Anyone that needed anything, PM me and I’ll get it to you.

You’re right. I’m leaning towards leaving so you guys can figure out your decals, gas caps, and “what superficial piece of carbon fiber should I add to my bank owned V4?”.

I’ll take my .... elsewhere.

how abt another forum, just 4 u wealthy nerds, with very selective account approval. But keep it public for windowlickers like me to observe and drool over

Watch out. Now we’re throwing out the value of our properties? 600k? Cool story bro.

I can promise you that you’re in the wrong place for a dick measuring contest. There are parties in this thread that blow your annual mortgage and taxes on parts alone.

But hey, thanks for solidifying one of the reasons why I’m out of here.

Oh ...., go buy your cheap Chinese Guitar kits made with 10 pieces of .... grain wood glued together and pot metal tuners and STFU. My DC condo is valued at 600k, and I’m styling and profiling. Whooooo.
He hit him with the Rick Flair tho lmao

.......if I wanted to see a bunch of ignorant political .... I’d log onto a much different forum. Please stop?

Yeah let’s move on. All of our views are equally meaningful and relevant. It is discouraging to see this elitism.

I‘m relatively older and have raced on the same track with WSBK and Motoamerica racers, have been on numerous boards, and this is the worst intolerance I have seen, especially from members that are so knowledgeable.

Here’s to being open, tolerant and hopeful for all of us to share.

Please stop?

You’re right,
I will.

it’s sad that the only entertainment/current events right now is cut throat politics and that’s about it. Unless you’re viewing reruns of 1980s hockey or Mike Tyson’s legendary fights from not too long ago.

now that we’ve all ....... all over this thread and got the shouting match over with, we can heal as a community.

it’s ok to pat a fren (friend) on the back for bolting on a new clutch slave cylinder, and it’s ok to post beautiful, lightweight jewelry to show off to your frens.

im sorry I came in here with all the noobs and started clogging up the legendary threads with questions that have been answered at nauseam. It is what it is.

But I will say to all the newer members, it’s a hell of a read digging back through the exciting times of when the 1199 and 1299 were new

Clear your mind.

Now pop over to this thread and follow the instructions

classy thread development.

@endodoc has got a point. in times when "tuners" slap on a bunch of aftermarktet parts on their "build" and get millions of views on youtube / insta. because that's what counts.

turn bolt CCW, remove original , bolt on [insert custom super special yadda yadda] part, turn bolt CW. voila, super distinguished build.

and some of you need to take it down a notch. you're not getting the highest post count of the year trophy.

You know, that LEGO thread is an elegant example. When I was a kid (long ago) legos used to come in basic shapes. There were “build” kits. Just basic shapes without and end result. The original intention from LEGO was to provide basic building blocks and combine it with a child’s imagination. There were examples of things you could build on the box but it was up to you to figure it out. The original LEGO did not come with build instructions to erect a specific thing. Today’s LEGO is not a learning tool or a tool that teaches anything. It’s a 3D puzzle of a specific end product with detailed assembly instructions. Bolt on vs personal innovation and customization. It’s a sign of the times. Today’s LEGO lets every child or adult get the 1st place trophy. They all look the same. The new LEGO philosophy also clandestinely teaches another thing. Control, how to follow the rules otherwise the parts won’t fit. If you can’t deviate, you can’t innovate The LEGO v4 is cool though.

that is exactly the point. building legos now with my kid vs. the stuff i built as a kid.

there are way too many custom pieces now in the kits. it's not the creation out of boundaries any more. all scripted.

similar to "builds" on bikes... with the difference being all the abundance of options and the urge for individualism through modding.

because that's all there is to it. it's a mod here and there.

once you had the motor out of the frame or sent the crank out, we can talk "build"

just like legos. only because my son slapped the truck axles and wheels on the police car, removed some lights and set the girl into it instead of the cop, it doesn't make it a build.

the "shooter blaster rocket" however, out of straight bricks, that's a build.

it has been talked about, thanks to bashing of said income group. not what we want here.

sometimes it's beneficial to hold your feet still
