Ducati provides an upmap targeting DTC adjustments for those who have transitioned from a 39t to a 41t; is anything similar required when moving further up in the rear to a 42t?

Wasn t aware of that . Race teams change sprockets per track and i havent. Heard of setting dtc settings to a sprocket size .. Interesting .. Ill try to find out ... Tx

No, and the gearing really has nothing to do with the map. Apparently that mapping didn't pass EPA regs so it wasn't released.

Are you certain? It was my understanding based on information shared here that one of the recent maps had the 41t DTC updates within it and uses an algorithm that recognizes whether you have 39t or 41t based on RPM differentials. I haven't heard anything pertaining to whether the map can detect RPM differentials between a 41t and a 42t rear sprocket, but I assume if a DTC modification is recommended when bumping from 39 to 41 then an adjustment should also be recommended when bumping up from 39 or 41 to 42.

You all are over thinking this. -1 front sprocket was recommended and installed by my dealer. Simple and doesn't require a new chain. Bike is awesome. Do it on all my bikes. Doesn't cause any issue with the electronics.

Just came back in Monza. I was too lazy to change back 15 sprocket, went there 14 and is working find! End of the straight, got all red in dash with 6 gear, but not hitting limiter! Perfect. (14/39)
One pic following, was something wrong in gpslaptimer, didnt stop.
One thing wasnt so good, bike is not very steady in high speeds...

Interesting. Recommended as in recommended over the 41T rear or recommended as in it is a decent alternative to the more expensive 41T modification? There seems to be a lot of concern surrounding the 14T front sprocket and the possibility of the decreased chain pitch chewing through the swing arm.

Installed a 42t too before instead of a 41t. I like the mod a lot!
Had to install a new longer chain though. Smoother take off and better gear ratio for agressive street riding and trackdays. Purchased the PBR brand.
