Cleaning and protecting the comfort seat?

What is the (covering) material for the V2 comfort seat? Suede? How do we clean off bugs/dirt and is there a way to protect the covering without making it slick? I am familiar with cleaning traditional leather seats, but I don't know what the comfort seat is made of.

Feels like alcantara, I used normal soap water and a microfiber rag. It does suck in water so leave to dry before riding.
