... resulted in quite a bit of excitement:

saved it :D

(BTW, love the exhaust tone of every combustion in the slo-mo)

I had an experience like this recently as well. It really is shocking how bad these tires are when cold. I put it in rain mode for the rest of the ride. It looks like you might have gotten a bit more fishtail than I did though. What was your DTC set at?

Guys...... Dunlop Q3's Please!!!!

Reminds me of a cool morning with my Hypermotard...foot out slide like I mean't to do it...yep the pirelli's need a little bit to warm up...

Nice save. BTW, for anybody who cares, I have modified all three settings of mine to have max DTC and max ABS all the time. Those are the functions I bought the bike for. I can see how being on a track you'd want to change that, but for even aggressive street riding (much less putting around), I want the most stability the bike can muster (which is astounding by the way). I also put Pirelli Angels on the bike for the winter months.

I lost my RSV4 to a low side during emergency braking, and my wife lost her daytona to a low side from spinning out on leaves, so I might be a bit sensitive. ;)

Had the same thing happened to me leaving the office but it was on the R1. Laying it down in front of coworkers, I would hear it for months!!!!

2 or 3. My fault...

Set it in wet afterwards.

Would have really sucked if you dumped it because traction cotrol was self set to not come on easier.

With all these electric aids and turned on and working, even set down low, im really supprised it broke loose the way it did, or as far as it slid.

Nice save Phil, good job! Saved yourself big big BUCKS! I did exactly that on my S 6 weeks ago. DTC at 5 running supercorsas, bike just smacked down. $9800 in damage... Nuts. Bike has since sold and my R is running strictly Q3's. Even though cold the Q3's still suck just as bad until warm.

Glad you pulled it out.

Too funny! I had the EXACT thing happen to me, pulling out of my neighborhood Christmas Day!!
