Keeping it in the 7500+ range Im still blown away by how fast this baby moves! The sound of a Ducati engine at 10,000+ rpm is fantastic. I know I'm stating the obvious but roll with it. (I've been riding a Harley for the last 5 years)
I'm riding on some pretty gnarly roads here in country Australia and testing the bikes stability at speed is pretty testing for me too! Was hitting hiiiiigh speed along some deserted back roads today and whilst the back was jigging the front felt planted.
Overtaking is a joy, no stretch of road too short. Anyone who's overtaken a 3 trailer road-train knows it can be pretty hair raising but it's a doddle with 7k locked and loaded, which is useful here.
Rough surfaces don't seem to phase the bike at all, only severe ruts or potholes. Ended up on loose gravel a couple,of times but the rear stayed put! The numerous small crests we have in the roads here can be a bit challenging as they have potential to put you airborne at the right speed.
Did a 400kmh round trip, was pretty thirsty but still only two fuel stops. (S with Slipons)
Tested the EBC as well on the way home, dropping down through the cogs I managed to illicit a bit of lock up on the rear but only momentarily. Biggest issue is that to ride anywhere close to the fun part of the rev range you're basically speed limit +50% at least.
My only gripe today was how hard the DP screen seems to be driving air into the front of my helmet, certainly my neck felt it. I decided that I might just be knackered after two mornings surfing, which takes it out of me these days. Would be interested to get some feedback from others riding with the higher screen though.
