Dealers have been telling me I need to put a deposit down if want a 22, so finally I did. Or, more accurately, I thought I did. Just got the email below from Ducati... Not sure what a quotation even is...Wanted to see if this lines up with others' experiences. I bought a car several years ago that required putting down a deposit etc... it was a much more confidence inspiring process than whatever this is... the dealer sent me a screenshot of half a computer screen as proof that my order had been placed.

"We are contacting you following the quotation that you have made at the dealer XYZ on Ducati Panigale V4 S.

For Ducati it is essential we satisfy your expectations. For this reason, we invite you to complete a short survey related to your experience into the dealership.

We really thank you in advance for your time.

Following your dealership experience, are you still interested to purchase the bike?

Yes, I'm still interested
No, I've bought/decided to buy a different bike
No, I'm no longer interested
I've already bought it"

FWIW I ordered my 22 Base V4. I traded in my V2 against it as a 'deposit' and received nothing in terms of paperwork or an order number or anything.

Just word from the dealer saying that my bike was ordered and that it will be here eventually.

Helpful. thanks.

I ordered my 22V4S. I put $1K down, received a quote and a receipt for my $1K. I got the first 22 at my dealer, transaction was smooth for the most part. The bike showed up 6 weeks after the expected delivery. It had $5K of damage from the factory. Front wheel, front caliper and right side lower fairing we're damaged. Dealer ordered parts and got them replaced a few days ago. It took 2 months to get the parts. I probably have one of the first build. My bike manufacturer date is Jan 22. Last 4 vin is less than 600. Love this damn bike.

Double check your forks ;) Make sure they’re the NPX 25/30

So basically they're making it up as they go along... figures

Depends on the dealer.
The dealers here have such a backlog of interest, they are taking deposits to help weed out those that are just kicking tires. Those that do place a deposit and have the bike ordered in their names are getting emails asking about the order process and how the dealer did. If you don't place a deposit, it may take years to get a bike. The dealers have said they won't be getting any showroom stock until specific orders are fulfilled.

When I placed the deposit on my Multi V4 Pikes Peak, I could see the order in the garage section of "My Ducati" @ ducati.com

I received the email. Need to log into My Ducati to see if anything is going on there

Edit: Just see my current bike in My Ducati

When I placed the order for the DesertX they sent me the same email. They also show it on my garage for MyDucati account.

I had to put a deposit down on the 23 V4R. It also shows up in my Ducati app. The deposit varied from dealer to dealer when I was hunting allocation.

They told me they had 12 orders in for the V4 SP2.
