Did ducati ditch 1199 aero wings for 2013

I put them on thinking I liked the slightly wider front and liked it better at first, but after two months didn't like it, liked the thin sleek look, took them off and like it much better now. I did get a small scratch pulling them off, but nothing I couldn't hide pretty easily.

I love the Aero kit and my dealer told me it adds another 5 km/h to the top end. It is easy to see on this pic as it is the red bits on the sides.

Not sure how it adds speed unless stability prevented being able to ride successfully at top speed. In any case I like the look, and if you don't want scratches, then make sure you deburr the entire edge of each piece before installing. There is flash from the molding process that leaves rough spots on the mating edge and this is what causes scratches. Remove those sharp protrusions and you'll be fine.

I never put the wings on since I love the narrow front profile - narrower than a R6 in race trim!

Thank you for the tip Mr Fragile. I am gong to fit them just to see how it looks.:)

Apparently the improved aerodynamics add the little bit of extra top end due to less drag.

We'll here's my view, they are part of the kit, Ducati would not supply them if they have zero advantage, I like the look couldn't care less the majority dislike the aero winglets, I do not have any concern re marking the paint

I also added them as soon as I purchased my "R". They have a visual as well as aero appeal to me.
