It is funny when this bike was first announced everyone thought this would be $40k+ over priced bike and ..... about it. Now it is only 29k which is amazing price (25.5 for 1299 s+ akra slip on is $3800 + lithion battery + carbon + r geomatry + new evo map and new special paint which makes this bike totally stand out of 1000s red ducati) this is by far the best bargain price special edition bike ducati has ever made. Now ppl saying this looks gay this is not R and all that.

Some ppl always ..... about everything no matter how good things get. Just my 2 cent.

when it first came out, i mentioned that it was said to be around 28k and people commented "that seem pretty low...why would anyone buy a S instead of this?"

yeah so...I understand what you are saying. People talk .... are generally envy that they cant get one themselves.

Enjoy your Anni.

I have way more into my S, full evo akra, anti gravity battery and this one looks cooler. Honestly the rapid bike was way more noticeable than the akra. The was certainly smoother than the stock map. Not sure if it's the map or exhaust, or little of both.

There is 500 ppl who definitely are not bitching and I reckon triple that who are because they didnt get one

These things supposedly sold out in 48hrs, that is the fastest of any limited production bike put out by Ducati, so I am told.

I believe the MH900 e sold out in hours when it went on sale on the Internet .

_If_ the Anniv model is MY2017 and is presented now , why do you think they wouldn't present a MY2018 say Juli 2017? A dealer once tolde me that every bike produced after the summer break in Aug when they change the producation line is considered an MY of the year after.

I'm guessing though the new bike will even come sooner. All models rotate every 5 years now with an interim faceliift like the 1098(2007)/1198(2009) and 1199(2012)/1299(2015)) I'm betting at EICMA this year it will be announced or at least a teaser.

I didn't mean we wouldn't actually see it till the calendar year of 2018. There was supposed to be an "a" in my post. I meant it would be a 2018 model.

The first 1000 sold out in 31min the rest over 2 weeks.

The idea of this bike was put to the public in 98, released in 2000.

Anni released on a Saturday gone on the Monday when orders could be put in.

Close race i reckon:D

I recall it at the time as I was not into bikes at that stage and did not own a computer . Thought it was all pretty strange back then . How things change. .

My dealer still has his If anyone's interested. I'm not sure where this "sold out in hours" nonsense came from.

Probably because there was about 40 guys down here that put orders in but only 25 alotted, so there is that one gone in theory:D

Just got confirmation for mine and the 498 I ordered:D

basically smaller states with only few ducati dealers get 1-2 or none and bigger states like cali or NY gets more but depends where you live some ppl get no chance whatsoever cause it is sold out in that particular state. and i heard there are only 120 coming into usa so if you are in state where it is already sold out it means you gotta look for one in other states.

What are you talking about? I wasn't arguing how/what dealers were getting. I was stating that this quote wasn't the case:

what i am saying is wallaroo is in australia and it is sold out in his country. depends what country or state you live in it could be sold out in that particular place or legion.

By the second part of his sentence, I took his statement as not just referring to Australia.

The bikes are not physically anywhere yet.

But on computer at Ducati they have first the bikes alloted to the dealers and second the ones that can be ordered by the public.

So the computer minuses the ones to the dealers and that leaves the ones to the public. Now if there was 50 orders for down here placed on the computer but only 25 coming and the same thing happens in other countries, the computer subtracts those from its available ones and bingo all gone and I said as in theory only.

By the way i am not arguing, just enjoying a good banter, so chill out:D

I spoke with my Dealer in Southern California and he reported the first of the expected two shipments of Anniversarios to the USA are now "on the water" headed to New Jersey. The first group shipped should arrive mid August in Southern California.

Been lurking this thread was told today mine will be here in central pa on the 16th well tentatively :D:D

About the limited nr, anyone know how many Panigale S bikes Ducati sold last year?

At least one.. Mine :)
