I didn't get a tank protector. Had to buy that seperate. I'm waiting to install as I am applying clear film to all panels as I did on my 07 Tricolor to protect from scratches and rocks. If you haven't done this I would recommend it. This stuff is awesome. My 07 Tricolor doesn't have a scratch on it anywhere. When something does hit it the film is self healing. 3m and Luma I know both make it. I applied it on some matte carbon too and it doesn't make it look glossy.

is ur dealer doing 3m? how much are they charging for it? thanks!

I was able to take a look at #24 at my local dealer today. It's a beautiful bike. To the new owner, don't worry, I didn't put any fingerprints on it. Enjoy her.

I have a buddy that has an auto accessory shop that helps me out. I think the Lumar film is a little cheaper than the 3M stuff. They are both great products. I'll be over at the shop on Monday doing all of my cowling and tank. It's not real hard to do and you can find the film in bulk on ebay. It's not real cheap but considering the benedits it's well worth it. My 07 Tricolore has it and still looks perfect. Not one scratch at all on that bike.
I had a tank done once and it cost me around $100 USD

Any suggestions ceramic pro vs 3M wrap?

Ive been coating my parts with Nanoformula's ceramic coating and I notice that when it drys on the bottle it goes like a hard crystal. So I think 4-5 coatings coud be just as good as 3m.

When I get my bike I will do multiple coatings where stone chips are a problem.

I've used the 3M & Lumar clear film. Monday I'm headed over to wrap all the plastic on the Anniversario in Lumar film. It's pretty easy to install. It's like installing window tint. The one advantage is that at any time if it starts to peel or you gouge it (which is really hard to do) you just peel it off and reinstall a new layer. There is no adhesive left behind to clean off and it will not have any effect what so ever on the paint on your plastic body work or on carbon. I went and tried a few different ones the other day to make sure when installed on matte carbon it doesn't make it appear glossy. The Lumar clear film is what I will be using this time around. I used 3M on my 07' Tricolore and it's still on and still looks awesome. No problems at all.

One shop suggested 7-9 coats, is that necessary?

Depends on who's product you are using....the 9H Is the go.
I found Nanoformula pretty good from the ones I tested and Marcin was very helpful with any questions I had.

Yeah!!!

Mine showed up late today! Got to see her unboxed and took a few pics of course! Gonna take her home tomorrow. We've all seen the pics by now, but here's mine anyways :D

i give up on mine. it is almost end of august and its gonna be f winter soon. fml. waiting blows.

Hang in there. I know how you feel. Its been a very long month and a half since I ordered. Plus until last week I thought it wasn't gonna be here till October. I was in a pretty bad mood lol. I think tomorrow may be the longest day of work I'll ever have.

Is the box by the front tire the akrapovic exhaust? Looks beautiful btw. Mine coming next week

Had mine protected this past weekend by Lucas at thetankslapper. He has full pre-cut kits if you want to do it yourself. You can hardly see that its one there. I like it better than putting some ugly tank protector on there.
